go to Netflix and watch "Alexandria". (must have subscription)
if you dont want to watch the whole thing just watch the last 15-20 minutes.
basically, the documentary implies everything was hunky-dory in muti-ethnic Alexandria until the Christians got there.
the documentary says the Christians killed philosopher Hypatia because she had knowledge and because she made scientific devices like the astrolabe.
then the documentary says the city was destroyed...not saying who did it, the documentary gives you the impression the Christians did.
then go to Wikipedia and read the real story.
(the astrolabe predates Hypatia's life)
