I could care less about college football

compared to the NFL,college football is more exciting.they are playing the game for the love of the game instead of the love for the money.

Colorado-Notre Dame: American Asterix

That whole thing about league/conference re-organization (i.e., Virginia Tech) in the early 2000s seemed like a big mess to me.

You know what makes me keep returning to college football? It's not Notre Dame's shimmering and ongoing TV contract with NBC.

It was the late 1980s - early 1990s rivalry between Notre Dame and Colorado University that justified that NBC TV contract in my mind, a rivalry which produced that heart-wrenching TD-return callback by the great Notre Dame go-to-guy Raghib Ismail (the 1991 Orange Bowl).

The Colorado-Notre Dame rivalry of the 1980s is really what reminds people that collegiate sports can be a thing of...capitalism upside.
