I am in shock!! I am posting this here, because I'm hoping she doesn't come into this forum much since she doesn't much care about politics, will see if she does. I'm sure I'll hear about it.

ok here's the scoop, I have tried to call her since the night of nov. 2nd, she didn't answer her phone, I left her a message to call me when she got in. I wanted to know if she had voted or not? She never called. I called again on Wed. still no answer, left a message. I finally get thru to her today, come to find out she was advoiding me, she didn't want me to gloat she said. I said I wasn't calling to gloat, then she says she doesn't want to discuss it, then goes on about how nobody's going to have jobs and social security is going to be screwed up and on and on but she doesn't want to discuss it.

So basically bottom line is she's mad at me, and advoiding me because Bush won.

I can not get thru to her I have tried to explain how everything works but she is to caught up in the liberal media to listen to anything I say.

Oh and no bashing Mom she is a registered user on here (angelblue)

Oh and I think she's buying into the whole conspiracy theory too!

Well funny you should post that. I have a good friend who is VERY liberal, I mean we are talking "Michael Moore liberal" (I know, I know....we go waaaay back to when I was a young liberal..I grew up..She didn't..hehe).
Any way she won't speak to me or answer my emails since Bush won. I sent her a nice ecard telling her I was thinking about her and that the race was close and could have gone either way, etc.etc. I was not gloating or condescending to her. I truly do feel bad for her that she is miserable, because she is a friend first before political foe.
But nothin' doing...I'm in shock, actually....She's 47 years old...let's just move forward with life! Sheez! :bang3:

My dad and I got into a fight over Bush the other day. For some reason, he hates Bush. I tried to ask him what he thought was so great about Kerry and he gave me some line of BS about "a new idea" or something like that. I asked him if he supported gay marriage (he thinks it's crazy), abortion (he thinks it's a horrible thing), a tax increase (he thinks that the government takes too much of his money in taxes). I asked him if realized that the Democratic Party did not share a single one of his values...he had no answer. It all boils down to Iraq and his perception that Bush is stupid and Cheney is sneaky. Anyway, he said that I was crazy for voting for Bush and started walking out of the room (I think he realized that he was outgunned) and I found myself shouting "Bush is going to win, so you better get used to the idea!!!!!"...I guess I was right! :)

Well...it wasn't all that bad. Five minutes later, we were pals again. That's how it is in Italian families, we get mad at each other, but not for long!

Michael Moore needs to climb into coach class on an Airtran flight. What? Private Jet? You Friggin Hypocrite!! ~ me, 2004
Michael Moore needs to live the life a typical middle class Joe Lunchbox where he works all day and gets half of it taken away from him in taxes, union dues and what not. Michael Moore needs to live in the suburbs one of those row houses that look alike, and have to pay his own bills, clean his own house, fix his own sink and do his own laundry.

After that, Michael Moore needs to live the life of a Mr. Mohammed Average Iraqi under the regime of Saddam Hussein. He needs to live through a lengthy prison sentence without knowing the charges against him. He needs to have his flesh seared and his testicles crushed during a torture session because his captors are bored. He needs to have members of his family disappear in the middle of the night, only to find their corpses years later in a mass grave. He needs to see what its like to have to live with the humiliation of having his wife, mother or sister raped.

Perhaps if he lived the life of Joe Lunchbox or Mr. Mohammed Average Iraqi for a while, he'd slowly learn to respect them and what each of them were up against. Then perhaps he'd abandon his socialist fantasies and conspiracy theories!

I totally believe it. I have friends I haven't been able to speak to for months because they are so bitter about being confronted by reality.

I reserve the right to keep mu mouth shut being that we are talking about my mom in law!!!!!

:halo:

I always said she was a dingbat. Sure glad I'm not married to her. Both my kids are republicans because of me, according to her. If raising them to have common sense is republican then I guess I'm guilty.

I can relate. I come from a long line of Irish Catholic Democrats. My older brother and I are the black sheep of the family. :cheers2:

I've "cut and pasted" this...

I've been trying really hard to lay low and try to keep my anger at bay.
I'm one of many who are EXTREMELY incensed and disgusted by half of this
pitiful country who have stuck us with another 4 years of dealing with
these insipid scumbags and quite honestly, I've been trying to steer clear
of Republicans right now. I haven't replied yet, not because I'd say
something I'd regret, but that something would come out that would
permanently drive a wedge between us. This is only the tip of the iceberg
with me, I have frustration and anger that I didn't even know existed and
that's why I've tried to stay away for a few days, in order to hopefully
let some of it subside..

Well I guess there goes a 20-year old friendship!

well maybe, she might come to her senses still, although it's not likely being that she is 47, my mother is 53 and I have been working on her for awhile and she still doesn't get it. :bang3: :bang3: :bang3: :bang3: :bang3:

My extremely liberal room mate is going wacko over the fact that morality was an important issue for so many voters. Her basic stance is " I don't want anyone telling me how to live my private life" . I informed her that I didn't think Bush was going to force her be a religious conservative or anything and that he was speaking of drawing some basic lines between right and wrong like stealing for example. Her response ? " but it all depends on what you steal and who you steal it from" :bang3: :bang3: :bang3: :bang3: :bang3:

Having been on a trip for the government over the past few days, I have not had a chance to discuss the election with too many other folks who did not share my views. I can tell you that the 300+ military folks I was with were extatic over the election results.

OH MY GOD!!! That is the whole problem with alot of people in this country today! Hello, doesn't matter what it is or who your stealing it from, stealing is stealing bottom line.

A friend of mine, who is totally for Kerry, had a similiar reaction, except I was the one who told her Bush won. She and her husband had decided not to watch any news coverage at all on the 3rd, so she had no idea Bush had already won. They were all ready for recounts and having everything dragged on again like Gore had done.
When I told her Bush had already won, that Kerry conceded, she quickly had to get off the phone. She called me back later on, telling me she had been physically ill and had to lay down because Bush won..... :lame2:
Then immediately started in with the conspiracy theories, and voter machine tampering/errors.
I found it so hard to restrain myself from going off, but we've been really good friends for 4 years now, and our kids are best friends, so I just had to grin and bear it, and gloat on the inside. Hell, Bush won, so thats all that matters right?!! :funnyface

I work with a fellow who seems to believe everything he hears on NPR. Once he told me that the capture of Sadaam was staged, that they just put him in that hole to discredit and humiliate him (even if it was true, would that be a BAD thing?). I try to be polite and not say anything, after all I do have to work with him. He hasn't said anything about the Bush victory (except for a snide remark about oil prices and us invading Niger .... ?). I can imagine the doozies he's going to come up with.

I'm surprised that the Left hasn't blamed the Bush victory on aliens yet.

Wait.....Wasn't Bush in New Mexico? And wasn't it one of the swing states? And isn't Roswell in New Mexico? Wasn't there a government coverup of an alien crash landing in 1947? So that proves it! Bush is part of an alien plan to overtake the Earth! I'm surprised Michael Moore didn't pick up on that!
