I am supporting Tulsi Gabbard for president

1. She served her country in the armed forces
The percentage of congressional representatives with military experience has declined steadily since the early 1970s, and today, less than 18% has military experience. Gabbard served as a Major in the Army National Guard and saw two tours overseas. As it stands today, she’s the only announced candidate with military experience whose held congressional office. Her unique record of service, both as a veteran and representative, should help insulate her from ad hominem attacks that would be lethal to any other candidate.

Since "serving" in the military today is like being a student at "Animal House," I am guessing her military experience is equivalent to a floor dorm room monitor at a college or university.

I dare you to go to a veterans hospital, stand on a chair in a crowded room and make that same speech to actual veterans.

I guarantee that you do not have the guts to make such a stupid/ignorant statement.

You have said a TON of incredibly dumb things...but that one takes the 'cake'.

Yup you heard it here first, I like her and since Nikki is not going to run.

2. She challenges her own party
Gabbard was launched into the national conversation in 2016 when she resigned from the DNC in protest and criticized the party’s anti-democratic policies. The move marked her clearly outside the norm in terms of party politics, but it also won her widespread notoriety as someone who’s willing to challenge political orthodoxy.

4. She can admit to her mistakes
Gabbard’s unique brand of Aloha politics enables her to admit her mistakes, which no politician is immune from. It didn’t take long for her statements on gay marriage and association with her father’s organization, the Alliance for Traditional Marriage, from the early 2000’s to surface.

The 2020 Democrats: Tulsi Gabbard

Political Positions

  • Healthcare: Gabbard supports socialist healthcare in order to cover the 27 million Americans not insured under the Affordable Care Act, according to her website. She wants the government talk with pharmaceutical companies about lowering drug prices.
  • Environment: Gabbard believes in finding solutions to climate change, and she is opposed to the Keystone Pipeline.
  • Economy: Gabbard is against the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal. She said that the deal, “would reduce restrictions on foreign corporations operating within the U.S., limit our ability to protect our environment, and create more incentives for U.S. businesses to outsource investments and jobs overseas to countries with lower labor costs and standards.” She wants to adjust tax policies to support the growth of small business, punish corporations for outsourcing jobs overseas, and encourage green energy businesses to set up shop in the U.S.
  • Affordable Housing: According to Gabbard, Hawaii has the highest living costs in the nation. She blames the rich for building and selling expensive homes, which don’t end up getting filled and waste space. Homelessness increased by 46 percent in two years. Gabbard said she wants to provide affordable housing, prevent houses from being “flipped and sold for profit,” and increase “flexibility to empower state and local housing agencies, as well as private owners/developers, to develop new housing units, and creating new housing options in areas where housing vouchers are difficult to use.”
  • Gun Control: Gabbard pushed for more gun control in her political career, calling for the ban of what she calls military assault weapons and supporting “comprehensive pre-purchase background checks.”
  • Abortion: On Nov 2013, Gabbard co-sponsored the Women's Health Protection Act, which sought to make certain restrictions on abortion practices illegal.

I like her a lot as well, she is one of the candidates at the top of my list!

For what reason(s)?

She is for the most part in today's political environment a moderate!

Besides she is cute .........

Aloha

Welcome to the team!

We're thrilled to have you join us on this historic campaign and help us restore honor, integrity, and courage to the Presidency. You've made the first step and here are the next couple of ways that you can join us as we build a movement of love and service to unite our country and achieve our goals:

  1. This week we're making a push for 30,000 donors. This will propel us over the 65,000 threshold AND FURTHER, so that we not only exceed our goal of 65,000 donors, WE CAN CRUSH IT! This week we're asking everyone to donate, and then ask someone who believes in our message to donate as well. If they haven't donated, a donation of $10, $5, $25 or even $1 will count! Yes, even $1 will tell the DNC that you stand with Tulsi! Tulsi Gabbard

  2. You can sign up to a group like Team Tulsi Online Volunteers and help fight against the misinformation being spread about Tulsi online.

  3. You can organize a house party for family, friends, and neighbors and introduce them to Tulsi and her message.

  4. You can organize and promote a town hall like event and invite Tulsi to your neighborhood. When you are ready to submit an invite go to Scheduling Request: Event or Speaking Request | TULSI 2020 and fill out the request form.
Thank you,

Shani Pomerantz

Tulsi Gabbard: Mueller report found 'no collusion took place,' Dems shouldn't push to impeach Trump

Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, a 2020 candidate for president, told Fox News on Sunday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election found "no collusion" between President Trump and Russia -- and that it's time for the country to focus on the issues that matter most to Americans.

Gabbard, a Democrat, told "America's News HQ" that while she supported the Mueller investigation, "the conclusion that came from that Mueller report was that no collusion took place. Now is the time for us to come together as a country to put the issues and the interests and the concerns that the American people have at the forefront, to take action to bring about real solutions for them."

She continued, "I don't think that we should defeat Donald Trump through impeachment. I think it's really important for us, in this country, to come together and have the American people vote to take Donald Trump out of office in 2020."

Gabbard's position came in direct contrast to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., who last Friday called on the House of Representatives to start impeachment proceedings. Warren explained Saturday at an event in New Hampshire, "I know people say this is politically charged and we shouldn’t go there, and that there is an election coming up, but there are some things that are bigger than politics."

Tulsi Gabbard fundraises off 4/20: 'Appalls me' that feds consider marijuana illegal

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) released a fundraising email that called to legalize marijuana nationwide on Saturday, which coincided with April 20, a popular date in cannabis culture.

In an email to supporters, Gabbard wrote that it "appalls" her that more than half a million Americans were arrested for possession of marijuana in 2017.

"It appalls me that marijuana is considered a Schedule 1 drug, alongside heroin, and that our country arrested 600,000 people just for possession in 2017 alone. Meanwhile, Big Pharma gets off scot free for pushing highly addictive opioids on to patients who don’t need them," Gabbard wrote in the email.

"Justice means expunging the records of those with marijuana possession charges and fully prosecuting Big Pharma for fueling an opioid epidemic that has killed thousands," she continued.

The email went on to donation options in several iterations of the number "420," including $4.20, $14.20, $42.00 and $420.00, before attacking racial disparities in drug crime prosecution statistics.

"The costs of our current, draconian policies on marijuana are disproportionately borne by medical patients, veterans and communities of color," Gabbard wrote.

"Although black and Latino populations use and sell drugs at a similar rate as whites, they make up 57 percent of the incarcerated population in spite of being only 25 percent of the overall U.S. population," she added

So, did you two anvil heads donate money to her campaign?

No I am prolly going to donate to Tim Ryan's campaign. But as I said she is one of the candidates I like the best because like Ryan she is a moderate.

Great. So she bashes rich people, opposes a perfectly sane and job-creating pipeline, and wants to ensure that the abortion industry continues to be allowed to kill hundreds of thousands of unborn babies each year. And given her rhetoric about the economy and taxes, she seems unaware of the fact that the Trump tax cuts ended the long-standing loophole that allowed American companies to avoid taxes on their overseas profits.

Now I know not to vote for her.

Only thing that sets her apart from the others is her anti-interventionist attitude. In all other things, she's stock standard democrat establishment.

There is something to be said for someone who reaches their positions through thoughtful contemplation, as opposed to simply picking sides and toeing a party line. I'd rather have someone who disagrees with me for intelligent reasons than someone who agrees with me for stupid reasons. Not sure Gabbard would the fit, but she has her merits.

What "thoughtful contemplation" led her to decide to oppose the Keystone pipeline? It's not like we don't know how to build pipelines, and our pipelines very rarely have any issues.

What "thoughtful contemplation" led her to decide to support unrestricted abortion, even after science has destroyed the myths on which Roe v. Wade was based? Has she heard of sonogram technology and the advancements that enable us to determine when the baby's pain receptors are in place?

I take comfort hearing someone declare "YOU HEARD IT HEAR FIRST" just happens to be supporting Gabbard for POTUS. Can you say coincidence?

Yup you heard it here first, I like her and since Nikki is not going to run.

4 Reasons Tulsi Gabbard Could Shock the Media, Party Establishment - IVN.us

th

It didn’t take long for her statements on gay marriage and association with her father’s organization, the Alliance for Traditional Marriage, from the early 2000’s to surface.

i'm here for you i'm here for love i'm here for life.

thanks for supporting a Beto/Gabbard ticket!

Right now, I rate the candidates on a scale of 0 (bad), 5(balance good and bad) and 10 (perfection) at:

Trump 7-8
Gabbard 6-7 Don't like the gun ban idea, but it wont go anywhere, and she wants Glass Steigal resumed, a good thing IMO
Yang 6
Ryan 5
the rest of the Democrats are below 3 and some are a flat out 0

If Trump goes totally nuts, I think we have alternatives in the Democratic Party.

Other than her foreign policy positions, Major Gabbard is a cookie cutter, standard issue, dimocrap.
