You do know that so called $13.00 a week Obama gave will count as income because the Tax table hasn't changed so next year you will actually have an added income of about $800.00 something that will be taxable.

Let me explain the way of my world to you. I do not work, therefore have no W-4 to fill out. I make income off of day trades in the markets. They tax that windfall before you get it, to the tune of max rate which I believe is something like 38%. I have no control over that.

However, at the end of the year my actual total income is below poverty level -- because I play in stocks mostly as a hobby. Therefore they owe me every penny they taxed me, back.

And always will, until they make windfall taxes non-refundable.

All I am finding has to do with if you own a company. I was just listening to Rush and a woman came on that owns a buisness and was talking about it. She said the new Tax table actually will raise taxes because there isn't any tax cuts anywhere. *shrug*

I am a single mom so I get more than I paid into it, so I recieved about 3300 this year.And with working less due to going back to college and my deductions I didn't pay to much in either. I bet all you conservatives love me.

This topic is about individual taxes anyway. But one thing you said that is true, there really are no tax cuts for anyone anymore. Because we'll all be paying new, hidden taxes, ones built in to almost all goods, products and/or services we buy. In fact, Obama's plans will hurt the very ones he claims to be trying to help. Like this:

Landlords are going to be raising rents.
Insurance companies are going to be raising rates.
Utility companies are going to be raising rates.
Gas companies are going to be raising prices.
Growers are going to be raising prices.
Transporters are going to be raising rates.
Grocers are going to be raising prices.
Manufacturers are going to be raising prices.
Transporters are going to be raising prices.
Stores are going to be raising prices.
Doctors are going to raise their fees.
Mechanics are going to raise their fees.
Contributions to charities will be less.
etc etc etc

But of course, they know that. They HAVE to keep the poor and middle-class thinking they're "oppressed," otherwise they wouldn't get elected!

We were frugal too MM. I know some elderly people who scrimped and saved their entire lives and right when they retired, Bushanomics kicked in.

She's lying. I own a company. You can go on the IRS website and compare the original 2009 Withholding Tables with the new one they just sent out.

Yes that 3300 helped this year for one I got a new car that I much needed but I also feel we need to started getting our country out of debt. I speak for myself though and I am sure other single mother's need the money more than I do.
