I actually think

Bush era policies, like 5% unemployment, real GDP growth, and lower taxes? The horrors!

NO. Like the greatest financial meltdown since the 30s and a totally jobless recovery from a minor recession. The guy who had fewer non farm jobs at the end of his term than at the beginning?

(Not to mention two unfunded wars and unfunded drug MANDATE and over 6 TRILLION in debt)

You mean the guy who prominent historians judged THE WORST PRESIDENT EVER, while still in office ? That guy?
Prominent historians? Now that's funny.

Everyone had a hand in the crash of 08/09 and prior to the summer of 08, our economy was doing pretty good. Perhaps you should have been sober during that decade.

Could it be the poster meant Prominent History revisionists?

Romney would be better than the one we have now.Not by a whole lot, but still better.
Obama always sounds like a gang leader, with his us versus them speeches. Not the leader of America.
Our Presidents are suppose to represent all of the people, not just a few of Americans.

Obama brought Chicago-Style politics into the forefront of American Politics. The American people are saying NO THANKS.

Romney wouldn't be a bad president....just sayin'

he's been recruited into wingnut world.

they romney who was governor of massachusetts wouldn't have been a bad president. this one would be beholden to the radical right.

Its a sad day when liberty, limiting government power in our lives, living within our means, and wanting the people to work more for themselves than the government are radical ideas.

Perhaps.

But the problem would be the people whom he’d bring into his administration, the judicial appointments those administrators would make, and the Bush Era policies they would reintroduce, such as ‘nation-building.’

Sorry, James Buchannan was the worst President ever. The nation actuallly dissolved into Civil War at the end of his term after a long four years of bad policy decisions.

Any historian who says otherwise is simply a partisan hack who needs to do their job better.

Do I think he would be as good as Obama? I dunno. But I don't think the US would go to hell in a handbasket if he got the nod.

I also think he is less polarising than Bush and Obama..

Might find some common ground. What helps is that he actually not the ideal candidate for die hard republicans and conservatives...so there is that...

He could even border on being a RINO...

Oh good grief. What would you think of him as president with a Republican House and Senate?

What has gotten into you Grump?

As he mentioned in the original post. He's thinking.

jillian,
Romney isn't near as set in his ideology as President Obama is.
Romney has proved that he does and can work with the Democrats.
When you have a President like we have now, who says that Republicans are the enemy, that is not being the Leader of our country.
No other President in our history has ever said that the other party is our enemy.

Republicans have chosen to be an enemy. They've clearly stated that they won't pass any initiative, even those they've supported. Their position is job one is to do everything they can do to defeat Obama, and America be damned.

That's a lie and you know it. Republicans have passed countless initiatives and budgets. The Democrat controlled Senate refuses to even acknowledge them let alone vote on them.

I agree and at this point a change
is required

Likely Voters: Carter Was a Better President than Obama

July 2012: According to a Newsweek/Daily Beast poll of likely voters, Barack Obama now rates behind Jimmy Carter in the pantheon of great presidents.

Back then Carter lost the election because Reagan creamed him in every debate and as the quote goes "it's the economy stupid." The economy was doing very poorly with long gasoline lines, inflation, Iranian hostage situation, and in the midst Carter gives his now famous malaise speech. But to a person I believe that Carter was a much more honest and more principled then Obama. Since leaving office Carter has become somewhat of a lunatic but at the time his character was well liked, he just wasn't great at being President.

Sure

But the Papa Obama Truth Goon Squads can't point to any real economic
success- this is all they have ....

Absolutely. Dingy Harry Reid has a plethora of House Bills languishing on his desk collecting dust.

They know they've failed and in blame mode.

Let them lie. The truth will be my weapon. And the more they see it the more problems they will have denying it.
