I <3 Elizabeth Warren

I hear all this, oh this is class warfare, no! There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody. You built a factory out there -- good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that maurauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory... Now look. You built a factory and it turned into something terrific or a great idea -- God Bless! Keep a Big Hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.

Correct.

The success of businesses and the free market are due in part to the very government many on the right despise.

Actually, many businesses succeed in spite of the very government the right despises.

And just to be clear, I (as a member of the right) don't despise government. It is essential as Jay says in Federalist #2.

What I despise is their constant intrusion into places they don't belong.

l truly giggle when someone says "if you don't want government in your life, then you don't want roads and schools". And I always ask if it was possible that if the market were left to put up roads and schools...would there be any. Somehow I believer there would be. There would likely be more of them and they would be better kept. And our gasoline and diesel would be 50 cents cheaper. We would pay for them. And I suspect we would get better value.

If Elizabeth Warren wants the markets to build roads she let the market take care of things. But she should not build them and somehow claim she is "helping" business.

Most business does not need her kind of help.

So, that's the new mantra of the left. Every penny everyone earns is their's because they 'helped'. It is laughable.

Where did she say every penny?

You're not exaggerating again are you?

welll then...what exactly is she saying?

That business owners should pay taxes too?

WE DO!

She's making the point that we all depend on the commons, and we all have to pay for them, and that the rich have used a larger percentage of them and derived greater benefits from them.

That marxist socialist constitution-shredding liberrhoidal bitch!

People who risk everything didn't succeed on their own huh?

Warren is obviously another scum bag lawyer who has absolutely no idea what it means to risk every dime to start a business.

No one from the fucking government helped me start my business.
No one from the fucking government was working 18 hour days seven days a week with me

I hired people to work and I paid them well and on time. No one did it out of their charitable nature.

No they didn't; No she's not; Yes they did; hope it worked out for ya; what's your point.

Just how much do poor people kick in if the person attempting to get rich fails in the venture? Zip.

Looks like a one-way street to me.

Wow, then Solyndra should be the new Apple.

You and she forgot the last sentence: The rich have born the greater burden of paying for all of it as well.

Tell me when this hack says that I used roads "the rest of us" paid for is she not implying that I did not also pay for those roads?

If I take a risk to start a business "the rest of you" do not share in that risk do you but you all sure as fucking hell want to take my rewards.

My favorite part of looking at this hole, we got in this hole, one billion dollars, uh, one trillion dollars, on tax cuts for the rich under George Bush. We got into this hole two trillion dollars on two wars that were put on a credit card for our children and grandchildren to pay off. And we got into this hole one trillion on a Medicare drug program that was not paid for and was 40% more expensive than its needs to be because it was a giveaway to the drug companies. That's just four trillion right there.
So part of the way you fix this problem is don't do those things!

The best aspect of this comment is that it doesn't argue specifics, but instead speaks a larger truth that no intellectually honest person can refute. And by the number of rightwingers that have thanked it, we glean insight into the intellectually honest among them.

 Speaking of intellectually honesty and spin.

Where is the spin? That's exactly what Warren said. And what would you know about intellect? You've shown time and time again to not possess it.

Good gawd man.

You are taxed same as everyone else in the effin country.

You've chosen to employ yourself. So have I. Good for us. We've taken far more control over our destinies and earning potential. Hopefully we're smart, lucky, and driven enough to have it all pay off.

But you're hoping to be a high-income American. Good luck. But if you are you reap the responsibility as well as the rewards.

Spare us the martyrdom.

You assume I don't pay enough taxes? I paid in last year more than most of you sheep make,

I paid in last year more than most of you sheep make

Then you should be good enough at math to understand the only fair comparison is percentage.

I paid in a higher percentage than most of the sheep as well.

22.6% income tax to the fucking feds
6% income tax to the fucking state

Not to mention payroll taxes, unemployment taxes, property taxes, workman's comp taxes, and all the other taxes employers have to pay that the sheep don't.

Oh and I lost the ability to save money in an IRA thereby losing a tax break.

Tell me what tax breaks do I get that the sheep don't

Wow, I had no idea you were so oppressed.
