hypothetical scenario- armed teacher

If the cheapskate taxpayers will pay for the gun, ammunition, and a ten thousand dollar bonus to teachers who have access them everyone is on board. Also pay for full day substitutes for the training. Then at least 4x a month practice at a range. I'm in.

between grading papers, giving assignments, giving tests, grading tests teachers dont have time to do that job, and THEY DONT FUCKING WANT TO ----

live in reality for a change, your world is sorely lacking.
Oh puhleeze. Teachers have told me they have the easiest job in the world. The only work 6 hours a day, and grading papers probably takes up 2 hours a week, tops. They also have the entire summer off, plus all those teacher training days and all the other assorted holidays they get.

My daughter teaches AP Eng/Lit - she gets up at 530 am, gets herself and two girls ready, drops off the 2 year old at daycare, and the 5 year old at kindergarten- she walks in her classroom at 6:45 , teaches 6 classes, leaves at 430, goes to a sitter and gets her 5 year old, then goes to daycare and gets her 2 year old, driveS 30 minutes home, does her chores- cooks supper, gets the girls ready for bed, puts them to bed, and usually grades papers or tests until 11-12 then she goes to bed after her bath/shower - sleeps 5 hours then repeats the entire process again the next day..

youre a fucking moron if you think teachers have the time to train or to burn.

never mind, youre just a fucking idiot, PERIOD.

LOL....I worked much more egregious hours and still managed to teach myself firearm proficiency.

The athletic directors door is on the left so it's a right handed shot.I don't even have to step out from concrete block cover to hit the base of the stairs as it's in the center. Body mass is two square feet at fifty. I take the shot!
This whole scenario about athletic directors is silly. The gym, PE classes, offices of PE teachers and department head are most often in the basement or in a separate building, not on the ground or second floor of the main building where the shootings always take place. No school shooting has ever taken place in the basement.

What a retard .....

And idk how you came to the conclusion that I’m a 2nd amendment “fanatic.”

Just a lucky guess
If a psychopath wants a gun he’s going to get his psychopath self a gun whether it’s from the free market gun shop on every corner or from wherever else. That’s why he’s called a PSYCHOPATH

Sure, but buying a gun on the black market would at least take some determination, planning and money. Not something an angry school kid with emotional problems could do so easily.. when you have a legally bought assault rifle handy in your closet though.....

So, what was your last group size at 50yds with a handgun?

Easy money with the top pistol.
The little tyke I can easily hit at 40 yards.

Your daughter's childcare issues have nothing to do with teaching. I went to school for 6 hours a day, including the lunch hour. How is it that a teacher would have to be in school longer than her students? Teachers seldom give tests or quizzes more than once a week. It can't take longer than a couple of minutes to grade each paper. That makes about 1 hour of grading per class. By the time someone has been teaching for 2-3 years they are giving the same tests over and over again. Grading should be a simple matter.

Teachers have told me their job is the easiest job in the world, moron.

you're the Athletic Director, you're in your office (front left beside the sign over the door) - you hear shooting and kids screaming for their life .. you open the gun safe in your closet, get your Glock 23 semi auto 9mm pistol and start out the door ... at the other end of the hall theres a kid standing at the bottom of the stairs with a semi auto AR 15 spraying shots down the hall in your direction as fast as he can squeeze the trigger, and bullets whizzing by you one after the other .. lets say those stairs are at least 45-50 steps, probably more... a lengthy shot for a pistol whatever the exact distance ... under those conditions, students running every direction, crowded hallway - could

YOU

leave your room, stay under total control, take careful aim and kill or wound the shooter stopping him from killing students without hitting and injuring any kids yourself?

Ive been around guns all of my life. I started shooting .22 rimfire pistols when I was 6 - .357 mag pistols when I was 12. I rate the degree of difficulty in that exact scenario on a scale of 1-10 .. 100+

what would you do ?

With even the largest magazine with an AR, he has to reload after 30 shots, so then that is your opportunity.
The other thing would be to either scare him by shooting out a window, or quietly wait until he moves closed towards you. Those are the 3 best options I can think of. And likely one of them would work.

But I agree the one thing you would not want to do is risk hitting a student because the range is too far.

As I stated earlier, in our CCW class, downrange was highlighted repeatedly.

But let's just take another scenario: An armed teacher believes his actions could jeopardize students. He doesn't have the range with his handgun that the AR shooter has. So he ushers in as many students as he can, and closes the door.

Now the shooter is going room to room looking for victims, and he ends up in the classroom of the armed teacher. He's not expecting to get gunned down before the door opens all the way.

That would have a much better outcome than a teacher sacrificing his life by taking bullets instead of the kids.

Agreed, when a shooter like that enters a class room he might come in shooting but he has a split second to recongnize that the teacher would have a gun bearing down on him. Meanwhile because the shooter entering the room is facing multiple people in the room, his focus is diverted. this gives the teacher at least a whole second advantage and the armed teacher needs only focus on one person anyway. Gunman goes down in that situation.

The left hates common sense and logic. So they create these wild scenarios that a teacher is going to go crazy shooting bullets everywhere killing more students than the attacker.

An armed teacher or guard is not going to save everybody, but if they can save several lives, that's several funerals several families won't have to make. It's amazing that the left would not want to see this. Instead, their solution is age requirements for guns and stricter background checks like that's going to stop one kook.

This is why the left should never have leadership of this country again; no common sense. They want to try and disarm 300 million people to stop the next mass killing instead of arming the victims.

The first time one of these mass shooters gets gunned down by an armed teacher, then it's probably never going to happen again, and the death toll will be much smaller. That why the snowflakes oppose arming teachers. They are against it because they know it will work. They know they will lose their main source of proaganda for gun control when it does. They actually want kids to be sitting ducks.

Not just gunning them down, but injuring them so they have to face trial and prison. This is what most mass shooters are scared to death of. It's why they kill themselves when somebody comes around with a gun. To add insult to injury, the media needs to show pictures of the shooter in the hospital with tubes coming out of every orifice of his body. That will give the next shooters something to think about.

But is is something they will do. Do you really think a loon is going to give up his fantasy of a murder spree just because he can't get a legal gun? The desire will just go away and he'll find something better to do like play a video game?

The left hates common sense and logic...

As a socialist, my common sense and logic says there's something seriously wrong with your society when a deranged psychopath can legally buy a gun to shoot up his school because the teachers and fellow students were mean to him but he has to wait till he's 21 before he can legally buy a beer....

And then you also have a legal terrorist organization (NRA) that says the obvious solution is more guns so the victims can shoot back because that's what the holy founding fathers wanted....

:coffee:

That's about as idiotic as saying if somebody hits you, don't hit them back, just let them keep hitting you to solve the problem.

Your party is using you and you don't even realize it. It's why Democrats use brainwashing.

The NRA had nothing to do with this or any other shooting. The NRA represents over five million of us (and more) who believe that Americans should not be a nation of victims the way Democrats want to make us. It's the Democrats who dragged the NRA into this and you bought it hook, line and sinker.

So I'm going to ask you the same question I asked so many other leftists: If you and I ran the country, and you wanted to implement your gun laws like a 21 year old age limit, would you be willing to accept my wager?

The wager is you can make your law, and we will live under it for three years. If within that time there are no more mass shootings, you can make as many gun laws as you desire. If there is another mass shooting during that time, you never bring up the subject again. Would you be willing to make that bet with me?

Of course not, because even you know it won't work, just like our assault weapons ban that we had for ten years didn't work. That's why we never renewed it.

A friend of mine is a teacher. We became friends when he lived here in one of my apartments for five years.

In the summer time, he used to sit on his front porch early morning waiting for us to go to work, and then taunt us how he is going to his camper for a few weeks and enjoying the weather. He did this every time he went camping.

The only time he was really busy was at the beginning of the school year because he had to make out the curriculum and submit it to the school before they opened up. Other than that, it was a couple of months of paid vacation and he did absolutely nothing.

Many things are wrong with you scenario but I'll just answer the question. Absolutely yes. I would do it. A High School kid with no training and firing randomly isn't going to know what to do if bullets start flying past his head. He'll duck, flinch, panic likely even run off.

Now I know that you lefty gun grabbers are going to call me an "internet tough guy" but to answer that I point out the teacher at Parkland who, without training, put his defenseless body in front of students to protect them. Had he had a gun, it could have been a LOT different. If I'm dying anyway, I'm shooting.

I love how you lefties try to add credibility to your bull shit by saying "I've been around guns all my life, blah blah blah.."

So what do you call a man who stands outside listening to young life after young being taken while he does nothing?

I’m worried about a more likely scenario:

You are the gun toating teacher . There’s a big brawl in the hallway. Do you break it up?

In the melee , a kid goes for the gun. Do you shoot him?

“Bob” the mentally disabled giant man child has a complete meltdown. He goes for the gun. What do you do? What if he gets the gun?

More than likely teachers won't be walking around armed. They will have their gun locked up somewhere in the event of a rare emergency.

That’s my worry ! Police just shoot everyone! Lol.

But at least cops are trained and experienced in such events . And they benefit from police respect . Unlike teachers.

Anybody willing to try and steal another's gun doesn't have respect for anybody. But as for a solution to your concern, they make side holsters with locks on them. You need to push a button for it to release the gun. It takes a couple of seconds to do and you have to know how to do it, so a student disarming a teacher or anybody else would be very unlikely.

So falsifying crime statistics, and refusing to arrest High School students so the district can get more money didn't work; so what do you suggest?
Refuse to arrest him?
They can’t even refuse the kid voted most likely to shoot up a school from buying an assault rifle
