I think they need to look at how many people get divorced over and over. I know two people who are thinking about getting married and this would be the third marriage for both of them.

Statistics can be made to say anything it depends on who puts the facts together.

I think it might supports the theory that I posted about in the scientific study.

It suggested that Liberals were more pacifists like sheep and conservatives were more aggressive like wolves.

The numbers of conservatives in the military would support this assumption.
I wonder how this data would look across the business spectrum?

There are two reasons, I think, why this holds true:

    1. As was pointed out, many liberal-minded couples decide they can co-habitate without getting married. Thus, when they break up, they don't divorce, they just move out. This happens much less in the Bible Belt. However, studies have consistently shown that couples who cohabitate before marriage have a higher divorce rate than couples who do not.

    2. As the article stated, Catholics are less likely to divorce because of Church teachings. Frankly, I wish more Protestant churches would follow their lead. However, I will point out that all other things (class, income, education, etc.) being equal, evangelical Christians are less likely to divorce than non-evangelicals.
