For starters it is not Israel's war zone it is Israel and the war was declared by the arab muslims. Secondly why did Rachel Corrie go to gaza which is the Palestinians war zone, was she dumber than everyone else.

Lastly If they had American citizenship then they had American citizenship and that is the end of the story. You can twist and turn all you want but it will just explode in your face when the truth is told. It is honorable to want to help the palestinian people, I think we can all agree that helping others is part of our basic principles taught from childhood. It is when people can't see the larger picture and end up, mistakenly or not, helping criminals and terrorists and attacks their own country or inciting (encouraging) violence against it that it become problematic.
Civilized countries have laws and courts for a reason.

Reasonable people sit down and talk. Sadly some palestinian groups prefer to wage war on Israel instead.
