I'm not saying it has been all bad since the gay couple moved in. They moved in right after Hurricane Wilma...and I just realized that since they moved in we haven't had a hurricane. Prior to that we were putting our shutters on four or five times a year and that last year we were hit by both Katrina and Wilma.

I am for gay civil unions. The problem most seem to have is the word "marriage". Fine. Then don't call it that. But at least give them the same rights married couples have, so when a loved partner is lying in bed dying, the other can be with them and know all they worked for together STAYS in that "family". Give them rights as a couple. Let them adopt children. There are so many that want to be loved and raised by people who truly care instead of being shuffled off from foster home to foster home due to parents who can't or won't take care of them.
