If the midterms created a GOP House Majority only five months ago, Then going into tax season the "Majority" party would seem mired more in quicksand than in electability.

California Republicans at any rate became irrelevant to it all when they basically said, "no" to even their own agenda in the recent California budget crisis. California is more than 10% of the national population, and nothing GOP happens in California, at the direction of the California GOP.
Then there are the "front-runners" for the presidential nomination, for the leadership of the "Party of Abraham Lincoln," with about as much electability as when the Democrats were mainly split in two. Mainly, a lot of them will likely show up in the national election, if not in the opinion preference polling.
