How will we fund this years installment of the war on Christmas?

i celebrate the winters solstice....i dont see pagans destroying christmas..unless we are the ones putting christmas goods out before halloween...seems there is nothing to christmas anymore but spending and buying....perhaps you should consider the solstice...we have a feast...and give our love....small gifts...perhaps but nothing amounting to hunderds of dollars in spending...

I think I might just give everybody a small bag of corn. You can eat it or plant it or feed it to the squirrels. Whatever would make you the happiest. Now, how about some of those Winter Soltice Celebration Cookies!

Nosmo predicts:

the week before Thanksgiving, we will start to hear blow-back against some stupid white washing of Christmas. Most likely from one of the dreaded Blue States. Some Scrooge in administrative clothing will declare a parade Winter/Holiday/Sparkle Season something rather than "Christmas". Then, game on.

Some House freshman won't be able to stay out of the fray and say something equally stupid.

We'll ride a wave of Christmas War right up til Christmas Eve. Then, miracle of miracles, everyone will keep Christmas in their own way. With family and friends, or desperately alone.

But Christmas will endure.

Looks like the NYT is helping to promote the war. No surprise there.

Just in time for the holiday season, Americans are about to be hit with a spate of advertisements promoting the joy and wisdom of atheism.

Four separate and competing national organizations representing various streams of atheists, humanists and freethinkers will soon be spreading their gospel through advertisements on billboards, buses and trains, and in newspapers and magazines.

On the confrontational end of the spectrum, American Atheists, which was founded in 1963 by Madalyn Murray O’Hair, will just before Thanksgiving put a billboard on the busy approach to the Lincoln Tunnel from New Jersey heading into New York.

It features a Nativity scene, and the words: “You Know it’s a Myth. This Season Celebrate Reason.”
