Because it was $millions, and their attorney's told them it is highly likely they will pay.
Paying someone off is an invitation for others to do the same.
Not to say Bill O. was innocent, I am sure he wasn't, but his reputation was a huuuuge earner for himself and others. It simply isn't worth the public trials to come out...not to mention how the MSM would have had a field day slinging mud.
My take is he probably flirted with office women, sometimes probably too much...but I don't believe in the innocence claims by the women. Sorry, but I don't.

He was really good for about 2-3 years, but then he began to believe his own hype. Then he started to earn 100's of $millions.
I stopped watching him years ago. It got down right ridiculous. His books are 1,000 times better, too bad that wasn't the man in the show instead of this eqo driven sensationalist that he turned out to be.
