How "pitiful" is the Republican Presidential field?

It's possible that the democrat party is thinking about who to run in two years. Democrats have gone so far out on a limb supporting the completely inept phony and his joke of a VP that reasonable democrats might be thinking about trying to rehibilate their name, which has become synonymous with communism and socialism, by challenging Obama in a primary.

Completely inept phony? What is phony about our current President?

He voted 'present' more often than anyone in history.

cheap shot, I know. but you made it toooo easy.

This is kinda funny.

The fact that obama had done nothing, literally nothing of note. community organizer is something you talk about when you're trying out for a real job, not when you want to be CEO.

And b/c the election is just under 2 years away, "we" got a pitiful field?

awesome

I will fall over laughing if some complete unknown runs with it.

I remember before the 1992 race. Bush Sr was popular because of Desert Storm and the early, early Democrat field was not even worthy of mention by most networks because everyone though Bush's second term was a given. And then, along came Clinton and the economy tanked and the rest is history.

Exactly, the heavy hitters sat out. Al Gore would have beaten Clinton if he ran but everyone thought Bush was unbeatable. The economy tanked and people forgot about Desert Storm

Republicans need a significant event like a crashed economy or the Iran hostages with Carter. If things stay on course, this group of Republicans can't win a close one

I've noticed a lot of righties conveniently dismiss Obama's time in the state senate as if it were nothing.

That's b/c he didn't finish one term. But in that time he did set the record for pussing out when called upon to vote.

that sumptin to be proud of?

BTW: the reference was to his STATE Senate stint, not his aborted term in the U.S. Senate.

Why can't anyone do that?

How 'pitiful' is the Republican presidential field? - The Week

According to public opinion polls, the field is currently "quite weak." Only two likely Republican contenders — Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney — have positive favorability ratings. Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich have "especially poor" ratings, in the negative double digits. Is the 2012 GOP field, as The Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan puts it, irredeemably "pitiful?"

The GOP field is weak: These numbers are "bad news for Republicans," says Jim Lindgren in The Volokh Conspiracy. Some of the GOP contenders could make "better than average presidents," but "I see no one who as yet looks to be a better than average candidate." If this is the best the GOP can muster, "President Obama will be hard to beat."

Ehhh, all they have to do is run out and find some radical marxist that can flip flop on issues, hide any details the candidate wants to about his/her past and lie about what he/she wants to do when he gets in office. Then make some friends in the media that support all the bullshit and carry out his/her message, no matter how much they have to spin it. Lastly, just have him/her breeze in months before the elections like the latest American Idol flash in the pan with a few catchy buzzwords as a slogan. It shouldn't be that hard to do........ :eusa_whistle:

He got a LOT of practice making indecisions!
Hush now. He took a stand regarding babies that survived abortions:
On March 30, 2001, Obama was the only Illinois senator who rose to speak against a bill that would have protected babies who survived late term labor-induced abortion. Obama rose to object that if the bill passed, and a nine-month-old fetus survived a late-term labor-induced abortion was deemed to be a person who had a right to live, then the law would "forbid abortions to take place." Obama further explained the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment does not allow somebody to kill a child, so if the law deemed a child who survived a late-term labor-induced abortion had a right to live, "then this would be an anti-abortion statute."

Why can't anyone do that?

Because your "question" at this stage is meaningless.

Why "answer" a fraudulent "question" if that gives it the air of legitimacy?

The truth is: some of the possible candidates might not appear (at least at this early stage) to be "stellar." That doesn't mean that with a little seasoning in the eventual primaries, they will not turn out to be superstars.

I'm not in a hurry. Why are you?

They're going to piss themselves if they can't start the demonization process very soon......

Which he ran away FROM later on.

For the most part, he just honed his skills at saying "Present." Clearly, Presidential material that.

In sum: he either voted "present" OR he made lousy scumbag "choices."

It's not in liberal DNA to be thoughtful and take into consideration a host of information before moving forward.

Unless he pulls a clinton, it's going to be tighter than you think. He's made the claim that he can fix things, that he was the anti-bush.

It's still very early to say we got nuttin.

Not only pitiful, it's non existent. They're believing their own hype that Obama will be easy to beat.

People are wondering why they don't get going. Haley Barbour is the only one stepping up.

Don't be naive. The election is nearly two years away.

In 2012, we will probably have a choice between the glorified State Senator we now have and a Social/Neo con, most will pick the "lesser of two evils" I suppose. I'll pass on that though, that is like choosing between constipation and diarrhea.....both are a pain in the ass and full of shit.

So you're saying he wasn't reelected?

You tell me.

I've been wrong before, and I've admitted it.

Bullshit, do they think the money is going to magically appear for them?

Not this group.
