How 'One Nation' Didn't Become 'Under God' Until The '50s Religious Revival

He said the State Department was, not the whole country.

I suppose the Rosenbergs were patriots to you, amirite?

With your Limbaugh infected brain, would it make any difference to you, no matter how I answered that?

If you stated that you believed that communists spies who betrayed their country were "patriots, it would mean you are a communist arguing that communists are not an issue here in American.

This has nothing to do with my actual beliefs ether way, but if I said they were not patriots, you would take that to mean I think you are correct. We both know that's not true.

You are projecting. I don't play lame ass games like that.

Are you a communist?

I've been told that anyone who doesn't hate Obama is a communist, and a socialist, and hates America, and is a lazy black with an Obama phone .

You're dodging.

Are you a communist?

Oh my.... they caught a couple of spies so that was reason to believe communists has infiltrated our entire government. Dumb idea then, even dumber now.

Do you deny that the assumed political and cultural dominance of Christianity has been increasingly challenged since the 50s?

Are you paranoid enough to think there is an actual link between a 1950 spy case and the fairly recent (since Reagan) hijacking of religion by the GOP?

Why did the Rosenbergs betray their nation?

How the hell should I know?

She was a communist. Do you think that might have had something to do with it?

Probably did have something to do with it. I'm sure there was probably a chunk of money involved as well. Not knowing more about the situation than a vague memory of a chapter in history class back in the late 60's, I'm not really the one to answer those questions. I do know there is a huge difference between being a communist, and being communist spy, or a spy for any particular ideology a person might adhere to.

So, lets connect some dots.

Ideas led to them making the decision to betray their nation in favor of the Godless Communists.

Those ideas of "religion being the opiate of the masses" and other similar memes were part of the Counter Culture which was just a couple of years later.

Those ideas are still alive and well, with many believers in the modern world.

And plenty of people who are ready and able to fight them.

Thus, yes, there is a connection between the "arrest of two communists spies" in the 50s and the rise of the Religious Right in politics.
