I buy one ticket when ever I have the cash to do so. No reason to spend more the odds are something like 1 in 140 million so unless you plan to spend a few million you are not effecting any meaningful chance to win with a couple bucks.

Even then you are only increasing it marginally.
I saw a few years back an economist showing a curve of how many tickets = what % chance to win.
Wow. To get to even a .1% (1 in a 1000) chance of winning you could buy 3 or 4 homes instead.
Let's say they only sell 10 million tickets (and it is waaaaaay more than that)

If you bought 1000 tickets your chances would only be .01% (1 in 10,000)
Closer to reality...if they sell 40 million tickets...and you spent $50,000...you bought 50,000 tickets you chances are about 1 in 8,000.
