How popular would a magician be if he never isolated your card? Or the sports-caster who never picked the winners in any contest? Not very...

Now…explain how anyone with the ability to respire and walk at the same time still puts any credence in the supposed-science behind environmentalism?
OK…let’s check the record.

1. While the intellectual father of environmentalism is the philosopher Hegel, who posited two aspects that make ecology possible: a) the idea of the oneness of everything, and b) the superiority of the collective as compared to the individual (a very German concept!). But the emotional daddy is none other than Thomas Malthus. And Liberals are nothing, if not emotional.

a. Malthus originated the view that the food production of the world would increase arithmetically (1-2-3-…), while the human population would increase geometrically (1-2-4-8…). Conclusion: mass starvation and epidemics. Sounds ‘environmental’ already, doesn’t it?

b. Malthus passed on in1834- yet his view continues in the hearts and minds of Progressives, today, who have expanded the vision to pollution and environmental damage.

c. BTW…Malthus has been proven wrong over and over, based on agricultural advances, and technological innovation.

2. Ya’ live and learn. Some do. But in 1968, Paul Ehrlich’s best seller, “The Population Bomb,” predicted Malthusian mass starvation throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s. Wrong.

3. Ehrlich and his pal, John Holdren, “ in 1971, long before Dr. Holdren came President Obama’s science adviser, in an essay “Overpopulation and the Potential for Ecocide,” Dr. Holdren and his co-author, the ecologist Paul Ehrlich, warned of a coming ice age.” Holdren's Ice Age Tidal Wave - NYTimes.com
Wrong.

a. And, of course, the obligatory “…150-foot increase in sea level …” Ibid.

4. Speaking of sea level increases, Al Gore only promised a 20-foot rise. Al Gore?s movie ?An Inconvenient Truth? says sea levels could rise up to 20 feet. Is this true? » Scienceline
Wrong.

a. The UN IPCC predicted 200-500 millimeters (8-20 inches) in the 2007 report. ipcc.ch/publications_and_data/ar4/wg1/en/faq-5-1.html

b. Looks like you can take your choice. Word is, some NYC residents (upper West Side) have begun growing gills.

5. More: the scholar John Holdren- did I mention Obama picked him to be ‘Science Czar’?- now has 1 billion people dying due to global warming by 2020. Did the President?s Nominee for Science Advisor Say He Thinks A Billion People Are Gonna Die? ? The Questionable Authority

a. Need further indicia of the mental outlook of President Obama's pick? “John P. Holdren’s advocacy for a global planetary regime to enforce forced abortion, government `seizure of children born out of wedlock, and mandatory bodily implants designed to prevent pregnancy, Obama’s top advisor also called for,”Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods.” Holdren notes that the proposal to forcibly mass sterilize the public against their will “seems to horrify people” and yet it doesn’t seem to bother him too much.

6. Just one more factor one should consider before placing one’s faith in these ‘environmental scientists’…..remember their big project in the first half of the 20th century? For Progressives, it was eugenics; let’s just kill off the unworthy.
See a pattern here?

7. What the take-away? Environmentalists view mankind as a virus, a disease that must be eradicated. In 2011, Ehrlich’s wife wrote a piece in the LATimes, comparing humanity to cancer: “Perpetual growth is the creed of a cancer cell, not a sustainable human society.”

a. Gee….I’ll bet these folks would be in favor of a President who favored infanticide. And that’s just what we have.

the magician only comes back and (mis)identifies your card after 5 or 10 years. by which time you have forgotten what it was.

but some of us remember. just like some of us remember that one of the few things Senator Obama voted for was late term abortions.

Progressives must be forever progressing toward something....anything......

It doesn't matter if their progressive goal is a fantasy or an urban myth.

Nor, it seems, does it matter how regularly they are totally wrong.

Their record of correct predictions seems to correspond with the appearance of the Comet Kohoutek.

Yet we have several die-hard Janissaries right here on the board....
...who'd a thunk it?

Depends....if you're a boy in a story the limit is I think three. However, if you're a braindead climatologist I don't think there is a limit.

Didn't you know that environmentalists were whacked out when pubic lice made the endangered species list?

And every time it is brought up....they deny that he supported allowing babies born as a result of a botched abortion to die....

"Gingrich was presumably referencing Obama’s opposition to Illinois’ proposed version of a “born alive” law, intended to require doctors to administer immediate medical care to any infant that survived an intended abortion....FactCheck.org found holes in Obama’s explanations as to why he did not support the “born alive” legislation..."

Not one single devotee of environmentalism chimed in!

Seems they couldn't find even an itsy bitsy mistake in the OP....

...not even in the conclusion.

Holdren is just the kind of Humanity Hating Lunatic that people like OldRocks would admire.
