But it IS interesting to note that Gingrich's post congressional employment as a non lobbyist who offered 'strategic advice' for big bucks not only hurt him in the primary, Romney actually ran ads blasting him for being a lobbyist. I suppose that's yet one MORE reason that Romney doesn't talk about his days as a lobbyist.

But you Romney supporters ought to be concerned about the character of the man you say you're supporting. He's a liberal in the 90s. He's a conservative now? He supported abortion rights. I've seen and heard a lot of lying politicians in my life. They're not all created equal in that regard. Some lie primarily about their personal lives. Others confine their lying to the professional careers. Some aggrandize their accomplishments and burnish their professional resumés with fictional stories. They're also the kind of people who are quick to minimize their involvement in something that goes south even if they were actually involved up to their eyeballs. Some parse words.

Most shift with the political winds. With that said, the smart politicians are actually pretty careful about what they say so as NOT to lie. Some people call that parsing words, but that's not entirely accurate. They're simply smart enough not to say something that will come back to haunt them later.

Other politicians just aren't smart enough to do that. They lie too easily, too often, and not well at all. That's Romney.

I have honestly never seen a politician lie as frequently and as poorly as Romney. And he does it even when it seems as if being forthright would be so much simpler. Frankly, Romney's individual lies don't bother me as much as the sense I get that lying is Romney's default setting.
