My issue with socialism is that for it to really work, the population must be expanding fairly rapidly, which is not a good thing in and of itself.

Socialism has worse affects than just the deficit. Look around you, socialists are running for office all over the U.S. It's concerning. I live in Nevada and we're being Californiacated. It's getting real bad out there. Lower standard of living, more crime, a more inconsiderate, disrespectful and lazy people. Higher costs, more poor and more frowns. Half are stoned or drunk. Welcome to zombie-land.

It's always good though for the Reichwing to have some bogeymen to scare their rubes with. When "disease-carrying illegals" wears off, they dust off the old standard "look over there, it's a socialist!" and "OMG, terrorists! Buy more guns now and be sure to vote (R)!"
