It is absolutely amazing, from many different perspectives. Given the average wage on the island, the upkeep cost of these old beasts must be tremendous, yet people are obviously still driving them. They are rolling monuments to the total failure of La Revolucion.

I have read that Venezuela (now on the brink of national bankruptcy) is giving the Castro's a hundred thousand barrels of oil a day - and that can't go on for long. What will they do with almost no hard currency?
