Just been doing some reading on this and here are the facts about the Gurkha soldiers of the British Army:
- Gurkha soldiers have have been part of the British Army for almost 200 years.
More than 200,000 fought with us during the First and Second World Wars.
- They have taken part in every significant conflict since 1947 including the Falklands, Afghanistan and Iraq.
- Almost 50,000 have died fighting for Britain and a further 160,000 have suffered serious injuries.
- They do not even enjoy the same pension rights as their British counterparts.
- The fifteen year limit on service is true. The rank and file Gurkhas are only allowed to serve 15 years. Only officers are allowed to serve longer.
So, our government bars these loyal veterans from settlement in Britain, yet they are only too prepared to give settlement to those who have no love or respect for Britain!!!
30,000 asylum seekers a year welcomed with open arms, most of whom are no more than economic migrants. Scum like hate preachers Abu Qatada and Abu Hamza (and many others) who've never done a days work in their life and live on benefits. Foreign criminals who are allowed to stay, because barring them would breach their fucking human rights. And let's not forget the constant flow of illegal immigrants, most of whom are allowed to stay as a result of government amnesties.
Our government welcomes the scum of the world, but not the Gurkha veterans who retired before 1997.
Last year, Gurkha hero Gyanendra Rai, who is partly paralyzed as a result of having his back torn open by an Argentinian shell in the Falklands War, was refused NHS treatment. How disgusting is that!
These men are not bound to Britain, except by tradition, yet they are prepared to lay down their lives for us. I think that makes the debt we owe to them even greater than the debt the nation owes to its own fighting men.
When Gordon Brown became Prime Minister he said he would be guided by his moral compass. So, what happened? Does his compass not work or does he just lack any morals? Snake comes to mind!
