The short ahswer about what happened to the economy starts early in the Clinton administration when he had an (always dangerous) democrat majority in congress. Democrats decided that everyone should be able to achieve the American dream of owning a home regardless of their ability to pay for it. Democrats forced banks and lending institutions to make bad loans which would be backed up by Fannie Mae but Fannie Mae was run by crooked politicians. It took about a couple of decades and a natural disaster for the incompetence of Fannie Mae to collapse and bring down the economy with it. Democrats blamed Bush because it happened on his watch but democrats had the majority in congress and the democrat banking chairman told us that Fannie was doing fine while it was on the verge of collapse. Meanwhile liberals decided that oil was evil and they would change the fabric of American life and send reparations to emerging countries because of American made global warming. The fact that the global warming scam happened around the same time as the economic collapse is suspect. Did democrats decide to bring down the greatest Country in the world or did they just want to create the biggest October surprise in history to usher in a dose of socialism.
