To me, a Socialist is a person who strives to implement Socialism.
That is what I see Obama doing. He may not be an extreme Socialist, but his agenda sure seems to be inspired by it. Specially given the amount of Socialism already existing within our country; adding more of it simply adds more fuel to the fire.

All industrial nations econmies are a mixture of socialism and capitalism. China has recently added a little more capitalism. Can anyone name a nation with no socialism? For almost 100 years now conservatives have used the scare tactic of socialism leads to communism and it is still being used. Listen. It's still socialism. And when people start collecting, they are usually glad they paid into it all their lives. I wonder how many righteous republicans that hate socialism and collect soc. sec./medicare quit accepting benefits when they've started receiving more back than they paid in? I don't know any capitalists to say they're good people, maybe they are. I did four years in the Navy. Volunteer or get drafted and maybe get shot at? No way. Forced volunteering I call it. Still, I involuntarily helped make the shipping lanes and commerce safe for capitalists like the oil companies. That was some nice socialist help corporate america got from people like me and the taxpayers. You'd think they'd at least give veterans a 10 or 15% discount at the pump? Hell no. You'd think they wouldn't want to hire politicians and lawyers and lobbyists to grease the skids for them so they wouldn't have to pay their fair share in taxes for the services they received courtesy of the armed forces and the taxpayers and people like me? Hell no.
