How Is It That Obamacare is Socialized Medicine, but Medicare Isn't?

It's like a sting ray barb to the heart. You would do more harm yanking the thing out than leaving it in.

what you're saying makes no sense, you can cut payment rates to hospitals, increase drug co-pays, yet the GOP is opposed to all these cost savers

Then why did Bush expand it? Why does Jim DeMint say it's untouchable?

How is Obamacare any worse?

If you're looking for philosophical coherence in right-wing talking points and name-calling, you're wasting your time.
Well, you could always post another one of your famous text walls of incomprehensible technocratic gibberish.

ONLY because it would be political suicide for the GOP to make those changes. Believe me, if they thought it would not cost them 2012, they would completely eliminate Medicare.

fight socialism! NO MORE VA!

Or Military, which is socialist!

Carry yer own damned gun.

Like the government mandated in the 1700s.
One of the smelliest old red herrings of the committed Fabian.

The military is the collectivized manifestation of the individual right of self defense.

There is no inherent right to force others to pay your medical bills, or other bills for that matter, no matter how old or poor you are.

Medicare and Medicaid deal with subsets of the population. The vulnerable. The elderly and the poor. They are not perfect.

They are also not one size fits all solutions to everyone's health care, from a top down, command and control bureaucracy. Medicaid is administered by states.

The fallacy is that everyone belongs on Medicare or Medicaid, just because they are attempts to deal with problems with specific populations.

Medicare and Medicaid are socialized medicine...And they're abysmal failures.

But somehow, that's seen as evidence that the feds need to meddle even further in the medical marketplace.

Your statements, in fact, almost always unsupported, are evidence of your continued failure to coherently present anything other than your own deranged opinion. I notice that all of the Tea Party members on Medicare have no intention of giving up their socialized health care. Not only morons, also hypocrites.

I'm not one of the Tea Party bunch, Skeezix.

The objectively quantifiable evidence of the failure of Medicare/Medicaid is that they cost in excess of 10X (including inflation) what they were projected to cost....Now the same people who gave us those fiscal disasters have conned schmucks like you to believe that they can "bend the cost curve".

Try again, fool.

if you're trying to be some kind of guru about the shit, then medical care is the collectivized manifestation of the individual right to self preservation.

i think this collectivized manifestation of right mandate concept is diarrhea for the record, but you've not even thought it through all the way, notwithstanding.

I've thought it through quite well.

You have no right to force me to pay for services rendered to a third party, no matter how self-preserving they may be.

Protecting the lives, property and sovereign borders of America benefits everyone equally...None more so, none less so.
