Mr. P, as much as I'd love to display liberal intellectual superiority, and further expose myself as the pompous, self-indulgent egoist that I am, I'm just a lazy bastard. 5 hours, man..

Forget that!

I know what your surprise is, but I will not indulge my sadistic streak by spoiling your fun. You can thank me later.

Anyway, a couple of months ago one of my instructors called in and said he was going to be late. So I took his first hour of lecture and then hung around for the practical exercise afterward. The topic had been weather flight planning and one of the sub-topics dealt with visibility requirements. Army helicopter pilots are allowed to reduce the visibility requirement on an instrument approach by fifty percent, but never to a value lower than one-quarter mile.

Now the reason I have bored you all with the foregoing is that during the practical exercise, a second lieutenant, WEST POINT GRADUATE called me over and asked "Sir, which is bigger, one-quarter or three-eights?" It took me a moment to figure out that he wasn't kidding.

Thanks...

So you're a classroom guy..I used to instruct on the flight line in the Instrument branch.
I saw a few students like you encountered in my time.

Are you a DAC or contractor?

Contractor.

I got one answer: commas, and an example of what can happen when used incorrectly.

A bear walks into a cafe. He sits down, eats a meal, gets up, pulls out a gun points it in the air and shoots. He turns to leave. The waitress yells at him
"Who do you think you are?". The bear answers, "I'm a panda, look it up".
She gets out a dictionary and sure enough under panda is the definition:
an Asian bear that eats, shoots, and leaves.

Thank God common sense/wisdom trumps intellectualism.

P.S. Otherwise I'm a moron.

I could do all that shit on there. But it's like too much work, ya know, man?

And another one bites the dust. What's with you youngsters?

Those tests are biased towards smart people, and that's not fair. Everyone should be allowed to live under the illusion that they're a genius.

Are you a racist?
