Depends what you are selling.

Here's what I've used that has and hasnt' worked.

If you can get people to endorse your business or service on Google, if you get at least five reviews, it boosts your ranking on Google Searches.

You might also want to try a service called "Thryv.com". They will put links to your website on 60 or so search engines.

Things to avoid using. Don't use Thumbtack.com. They used to be a good service, but now they kind of suck.

There are companies which for a fee will put your listing first with searches...I just run an ad on Craigslist a viola..
