Marriage is not a religious thing. It is a legal contract under the control of the state. You can have all of the church weddings you like, but if you don't have a state issued license you get no legal benefits from it. A couple married by a justice of the peace is just as married as a couple married by a priest. The priest marries you under the authority of the state. Without that authority, that marriage has no standing of any kind.

The gound for marriage is religion. Whether it is at the church or at the city hall, it is still grounded in religion.

As to being something biological, that means nothing. Smoking marijuana may have medicinal benefits, but it still is dangerous.

Close - the right wording would be marriage is something created by God. As Marriage is created by God - God is the Only One who can define it and it clearly outlined in the Bible. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Not a man and a man. Not a man and a boy. Not a man and a child of either sex. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Period.

Good discussion. It's not true that same sex marriage doesn't harm anyone.

Who does it harm?

The Family. Homosexuality is the most destructive force against Family as God has created family to be - that has ever come along. It is the enemy of whole, healthy families. Which is why it is the most destructive force in destroying whole societies.

Let me explain how gay marriages will destroy American family

If gays are allowed to marry, then there will be more marriages

If there re more marriages, then there will be more divorces

If there are more divorces then there will be more destroyed American families.

Hence, gay marriages will destroy American families!!



Hmmm, given this argument, maybe we should stop all marriages?
