How Can Anyone Hate Obama?

Looking at the forum here I have seen a lot of “if Obama is elected, then the world will end” and generally a lot of venom spat out at a generally mild mannered normal guy. From some of these posts you would think he is the Anti-Christ incarnate come to bring hell to earth.

He’s not…He’s just a Politician…so calm down.

Sure, I support Obama now but I was sure I would vote for McCain until he picked Palin as a running mate. I still think that if you are voting on the economy McCain is probably the way to go as I think he will (regardless of what he says in public) increase taxes on upper income individuals and cut spending wisely. I also know Obama won’t ruin the economy and I will receive some tax benefit if he is elected so its not a deal breaker for me.

Maybe I can relate better to Obama and I realy don’t like how republicans are attempting to vilify him. I mean it’s a guy that served on the board of the Annenberg Project so he is a radical communist? That organization sponsors NOVA on PBS so give me a break.

The whole ACORN thing, he worked with a group to increase participation of underrepresented voters. I could have done that, and now that there are aligations of potential voter fraud Obama is a crook and a liar, come on.

On the Rev Wright thing, why do the Republicans want to bring up Obama’s spiritual life, I would think they would be in favor of the fact that he attends regular services. Regardless of ones stance on the statements made by Wright, should all the parisioners who listen to a sermon be considered to agree with all of the speaker’s views?

I really don’t think Republicans want to go there either.

All this screaming that Obama is the devil has just pushed me farther and farther away from McCain and as a swing voter that shows. Did it ever occur to the Republican’s that swing voters may not care about Ayers, I don’t. I figure the past is the past and he has become a productive member of society so more power to him.

Now if you are a true partisan you will read the above statement and think,

“I am glad that son of a bitch isn’t voting with me”

And that’s exactly why McCain will lose in November.

It's their only way at this time to vent their frustrations when they are losing so bad.

I still have in laws who believe he is a Muslim. It's interesting that the McNasty campaign isn't attacking him about rev wright anymore. If they did that they would confuse some of their base who they have conviced he is a Muslim.

It's amazing that when Kennedy ran the right did the same shit with the Pope etc. New candidate. New religion. Same slime machine.

John McCain is not the man he appeared to be before he lost in 2000. I feel sorry for a man who has to throw out so many principles just to try and win.

I saw a clip from a speech Mcain gave last week, he took the microphone away from a woman who spewing the stuff you mention here and said Obama was a honest and decent man that he was proud to have both served in the Senate with and ran in an election with him.
I have seen various clips of Obama saying pretty much the same thing.

I feel like this election is like the one on South Park between a giant douche and a turd sandwich. I might not bother to vote just to see what happens. I really don't see where it makes a whole lot of difference because both guys have their weaknesses and strengths.
I fail to see either candidate as a really great choice.

I totally agree, I never did understand how he could be a Moslem and have a Reverend, I guess that’s an argument that even the Republican base might question.

McCain was great in 2000 and I have wanted to vote McCain for 8 years, just sad to see it turn out this way.

Yeah, he's normal except that he has palled around with Bill Ayers, one of the most repugnant pieces of slime on the earth today, for the past 30 years.

Yeah he's normal and a nice guy except he lies to the American people every single time he turns around about his motives and his plans.

Yeah, he's a normal nice guy except he hates America.

Other than that, he's just great.

You are loony.

Right, Ali. You as a true believer and a righty are the only ones who love America.

I feel sorry for you. You remind me of my brother in law. He still believes that Obama is a Muslim. Do you?

Oh he hates America. Make no mistake. This is why the president of Iran is praying he makes the presidency. He says it marks the end of our power because he recognizes that Obama doesn't have the good of the country at heart.

Define America, because I have a suspicion we are talking about diffeerent things here.

Personally I do not hate Obama.

In fact I respect what he has achieved, and the fact that he is pretty honest about who he is and what he wants to do.
He strikes me as a very nice guy, and a smart guy. He is rather likable.

I simply do not like most of his ideas. Especially his idea that The governments job is to use the tax system to "spread the wealth"

No matter how you cut it, that is socialism.

Someone said Obama Hates America, I do not think that is the case. I think he hates Capitalism, and might hate White America, but I do not think He hates America.

Allie, don't give in to hate.

That leads to the Dark Side.

That isn't socialism. That is a progressive tax system. It has been around a very long time.

I don't hate Obama in the least, he seems like a nice guy to me. I just don't think he's a good choice for President.
