Well, anyone who can ignore high gas prices, high food prices, inflation, high unemployment and a bunch of other problems he would be a shoe in.

Here's the thing.

People always think the country is "headed in the wrong direction". Just like Congress always has a terrible approval rating as a whole, while individual Congressmen have high approval ratings from their constituents.

Just like Rasmussen's "Approval Index" is meaningless as well.


Polling is a tool for political operatives. It's not an indicator of what's going to happen in a year and a half on election day, and it's meaningless if you don't understand how polling works.

I realize that half the people on this site cream their jeans when Obama's poll numbers drop a point or two, and the other half cream their jeans when his numbers go up, but you're all deluding yourselves.
