How blatantly biased (or dishonest) can the NYTimes get.

New York Times Leaves Ted Cruz's Book Off Best-Seller List
By Greg Richter | Friday, 10 Jul 2015 10:40 AM

Ted Cruz is a U.S. senator from Texas, a Republican presidential candidate and a best-selling author, but he won't be appearing on The New York Times' best-seller list, Politico reports.

Cruz's book, "A Time For Truth: Reigniting the Promise for America," has sold 11,854 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen Bookscan. The book has sold more copies than 18 of the 20 books that will be on the hardcover best-seller list for the week ending July Fourth.

Aziz Ansari's "Modern Romance," which is listed at No. 2, sold fewer than 10,000 copies, Politico's media reporter Dylan Byers noted. And Ann Coulter's "Adios America," which is No. 11, sold slightly more than half as many copies.

Bookscan lists the book at No. 4 on its hardcover list. It also ranks fourth on The Wall Street Journal and Publisher's Weekly hardcover lists and is No. 1 on the Conservative Book Club list. Amazon.com rates it a No. 1 in Political Leader Biographies.

Cruz's publisher, HarperCollins, asked the Times why Cruz's book was not included, and was told the book did not meet its criteria, Politico reported.

"We have uniform standards that we apply to our best-seller list, which includes an analysis of book sales that goes beyond simply the number of books sold," Times spokesperson Eileen Murphy told Politico. "This book didn't meet that standard this week.

[my note -- The NYTimes has “standards?” After all their history of lies and serious biases and cover-ups?]

"Our goal is that the list reflect authentic best-sellers, so we look at and analyze not just numbers, but patterns of sales for every book," Murphy said.

Yeah they hate the right. Ignore #11 Ann Coulter, that must be a trick.
Boy it sure does not take much for you to convince yourself of anything.

It is a freaking best seller list that one allegedly expects unbiased reporting of sales figures. When you keep the #4 selling book off the top #20 that spells AGENDA, not fact reporting.

The fact they kept Ann's book on the list, how does that make what they did to Ted Cruz's book right?

PS-- The NYTimes has done this before to a right wing author and it was caught then as well.

You should look up those standards they mentioned for getting on the list. Once you do you'll feel silly.

NY Times is a joke. Nobody pays them any attention. Everyone who wants real news goes to Drudge, Al Jazeera and BBC

I heard Rafael on the radio talking about the first chapter his book. It is entitled Mendacity.

He talked about how that chapter discusses how the Republican party manipulates the rubes into thinking the GOP Establishment is opposed to something (hiking the debt ceiling, for example) when they are in fact abdicating on the issue, or are actually in favor of it, and just putting on theater for the rubes.

Sound familiar? :D

He bought the books himself.

How does that make it a "bestseller"?

That doesn't stop you nutters from buying it.

In any event, its a non-issue. Eat some fruit and calm down.

I agree about Drudge, I like it very much.

But I don't know about Al Jazeera for obvious reasons, and the BBC is not what it used to be anymore, now it's the very worst of the worst,no wonder it is called.... BBC = Bastards Broadcasting Communism.

Forget the BBC.

UPDATE (9:42 p.m.): Murphy emailed late Thursday night to further clarify the reasoning behind the Times decision.

"In the case of this book, the overwhelming preponderance of evidence was that sales were limited to strategic bulk purchases," she wrote.

Yeah, B.S. NYTimes has a history of doing this to other conservative authors.

PLus all those other Book Selling websites (some far more honorable than the Times) has him listed no lower than #4. I guess they all use faulty standards but only the Times is honest? Is that your take?

And Glen Beck asked --- I wonder if they have any idea how many pallets of Hillary's books are sitting in warehouses?

It is a joke.

Harper Collins just blew the Slimes out of the water....

HarperCollins Refutes New York Times Claim That Ted Cruz Tried To Game Bestseller List

Publishing giant HarperCollins is publicly pushing back against the New York Times’ claim that Ted Cruz’s new book, A Time For Truth, was disqualified from its bestseller list because sales were limited to “strategic bulk purchases.”

In a statement provided to BuzzFeed News, HarperCollins publicity director Tina Andreadis said the company looked into the matter and “found no evidence of bulk orders or sales through any retailer or organization

Here is Andreadis’ complete statement:

HarperCollins Publishers has investigated the sales pattern for Ted Cruz’s book A TIME FOR TRUTH and has found no evidence of bulk orders or sales through any retailer or organization.

When questioned about the omission of A TIME FOR TRUTH from its bestseller list, the New York Times told Politico, “In the case of this book, the overwhelming preponderance of evidence was that sales were limited to strategic bulk purchases.”

A TIME FOR TRUTH ranked high on other publishing industry bestseller lists including Nielsen Bookscan (#4), a subscription service that tracks the vast majority of book sales in America, The Wall Street Journal (#4) and Barnes and Noble (#7). All these outlets omit bulk orders books from their rankings.

Rightwing con artists try to manipulate book sales with bulk purchases. The Times is trying to weed these crooks out.

To those who deny the NYTimes blatantly lied about which books are best sellers, the list continues to grow who refute the NY Times pitiful defense. Again, this is not the first time (by any means) they have kept conservative authors of their list, nor is it the only way they lie, deceive and over cover conservative crimes and totally cover up or do not report on far greater scandals on the left.

Fine if that is what you want to do NY Times, just admit it and stop reporting on which are the best selling books in America. You deserve no integrity, nor does your motto “all the news that’s fit to print” have any credibility any longer.

Amazon: No Evidence of Unusual Bulk Sales of Ted Cruz's Book

By Melissa Clyne | Monday, 13 Jul 2015 10:58 AM

Amazon is bolstering assertions by publishing house HarperCollins that bulk sales are not responsible for the popularity of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s memoir, a charge waged by The New York Times to keep the book off its best-seller list, Politico media blogger Dylan Byers reports.

The New York Times has come under fire for its refusal to include Cruz's book, "A Time for Truth," on its best-seller list, first by saying that it did not meet the newspaper’s "uniform standards" — which includes "an analysis of book sales that goes beyond simply the number of books sold"— that are applied to its best-seller list, followed by an explanation that "the overwhelming preponderance of evidence was that sales were limited to strategic bulk purchases."

But a spokeswoman for Amazon, the country’s largest Internet retailer, tells Politico that a review of company sales data showed no evidence of unusual bulk purchase activity.

"As of yesterday, 'A Time for Truth' was the No. 13 best-selling book, and there is no evidence of unusual bulk purchase activity in our sales data," said Sarah Gelman, Amazon's director of press relations.

HarperCollins own investigation turned up similar findings.

On Friday, the Cruz campaign issued a statement blasting the Times and demanding it release its "evidence" of bulk sales or issue a public apology.

"The Times is presumably embarrassed by having their obvious partisan bias called out. But their response — alleging 'strategic bulk purchases' — is a blatant falsehood," Cruz campaign spokesperson Rick Tyler said in the statement. "The evidence is directly to the contrary. In leveling this false charge, the Times has tried to impugn the integrity of Senator Cruz and of his publisher HarperCollins."

He continued: "We call on the Times, release your so-called 'evidence.' Demonstrate that your charge isn’t simply a naked fabrication, designed to cover up your own partisan agenda. And, if you cannot do so, then issue a public apology to Senator Cruz and HarperCollins editor Adam Bellow for making false charges against them."

Both the publisher and Amazon claim the NYT is full of shit. Very interesting since one report I read of the omission quoted a Times spokesperson, "...overwhelming preponderance of evidence...sales were limited to strategic bulk purchases."

Hmmm..."overwhelming preponderance of evidence" certainly implies they did some research on the book's sales, no? So all they have to do to protect their reputation, assuming they want to, is show the world the preponderance of evidence they uncovered. They're either telling the truth or pulling a JoeyB Dolezal on the world.

The NY Times is a propaganda outlet for the Democratic party. While "reporting" on the Confederate Flag issue, they never mentioned that Gov. Haley and the State Legislature that had the flag removed were Republicans, but mischaracterized the House debate as Republican support for the Confederacy. The WSJ is the only remaining example of credible print media.
