There will be no conviction by the senate because there is no way to get to the needed 67 votes. In fact the D house with its lack of due process the impeachment might be reasonable cause for the dismissal all by itself. The Durham Grand jury may start handing out indictments before the House launches its conviction and could lead to indictments of sitting D representatives as co-conspirators with Comey MCabe et al might take the intelligent move of rolling over on the Obama administration. How bad could this get for the house Ds?

With Trumpybears and the RNC's corruption laid bare, 4 to 5 seat swing in the Senate 30+ in the House, and a landslide against the Trumpublicans.

Just wait for the ig report and the Durham report...

IF impeachment gets to a vote in the house (and that's a big IF)...it wont pass.

Atleast 40 dems will not vote for it (probably more). So it will not make it to the senate.

In the 2020 election the repub's take back the house...gain a filibuster proof super majority in the senate & president Trump wins with 90% of the vote.

Remember how the Dems tried to use the uncorroborated allegations of Christine Blasey Ford against Brett Kavanaugh. They will do anything they think they can get away with to get Trump. There is no bar too low.

It will be the ultimate undoing and the end of the Democratic party altogether. Another party will have to take it's place or the people could get smart and we could start electing people and not parties to office and to represent us for a much needed change. After all there are NO provisions for political parties or professional career politicians in our constitution.

The approval polls will stay the same-if Trump gets 42% in 2020, the Dems get 43 or 41-it will be close.

it all depends on what they present. If they present information that seems nothing more than sour grapes over a lost election, they will suffer for it in the battleground States.

If they can present clear evidence of actual wrongdoing, they may gain votes in the battleground states.

Increasing the turnout in NY and CA does nothing but give them a bully pulpit if the EC and popular vote again do not match.

There is no popular vote contest.

Then why do dems always bring it up when discussing 2016?

Sending the impeachment proceedings to the Senate will be a disaster for the Democrats.

Five reasons why:

5 Reasons A Senate Trial Would Be A Nightmare For Democrats

it's not an impeachment however.

Ignorance

It depends on how long the Democrats pursue it. IMHO, the longer they keep the issue alive then the more blowback there will be. It's nothing more that a witch-hunt, a hanging in search of a reason. And frankly I hope they pay dearly for their shameful conduct.

Total agreement but if the Ds blow this move they will be dealing with a special counsel who could bring the D house leadership into grand jury for aiding and abetting sedition just on the basis of their reaction to the Mueller report.
