house votes down obama budget 414 - 0

Anyone aware of the fact that the president's yearly budget recommendation is not an actual budget? It's far too general to be a workable budget. Also there's that thing with the debt ceiling deal that republicans would like you forget as they attempt to wiggle out of the deal they made for the sake of their pentagon buddies. Keep that fact central anytime they mention the word budget, they punted the whole thing to 2013 making the budget process superfluous this year and perhaps permanently.

gee...what about all those libtards screaming that the Ryan budget didn't have enough detail and should have? When I explained it was a proposal, like Obama's was a proposal, they seemed to think that was just... different.

Isn't he the chairman of the budget committee? When it leaves his desk and goes to the floor it is supposed to be in a form to be voted on and sent to the senate. He knows it is a sham this year, he didn't even work that hard on it.

The informative link in the opening post said:
The budget was offered by Rep. Mick Mulvaney, R-S.C., to show how few votes the president's budget might get.

House Republicans last tried this same tactic in 2000 on President Clinton's budget.

House Democrats floated three of President Reagan's budgets in the 1980s. Those budgets collected 28, 15 and one votes, respectively.

i know... shocking.

are these people really that stupid?

rhetorical question...

They want Ryan's "budget" that adds TRILLIONS to the debt, puts millions of Americans into poverty, gives anyone who makes more than $1MILLION DOLLARS an extra $150THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR and even manages to kill some babies.

Vote Republican - keep China green and put lots of money into foreign banks and foreign business. Just like your hero, Mittens.

While I am not that big of a fan of the New York Times, I sometimes a check it out. Let's see what they had to say:

2016 Deficit:

Ryan plan - $241 billion
Obama plan - $529 billion

Debt over the next 10 years:

Ryan plan - $3.1 trillion
Obama plan - $6.4 trillion

So, while Ryan's plan does add to the debt as you mentioned, you just conveniently forgot to mention that Obama's plan adds over twice as much to it as Ryan's

Year it balances the budget:

Ryan plan - year 2040
Obama plan - NEVER

This was the NY Times, not me that came up with these stats. Hmm, any wonder why even Democrats in the House joined Republican in voting down Obama's plan.

Aww facts. Where would we be without em

Of course Lugnut won't comment on said facts.

Good post my friend.

Didn't the Dem controlled Senate kick the last Barry Budget to the curb as well??

As I recall he couldn't get one Dem to vote for that one either.

Harry Reid said months ago that the democrats weren't going to pass a budget. This isn't news.

Democrats refuse to pass a budget, then blame republicans because the democrats refused to pass a budget.

Ah, but the VOTERS like Obama's budget better than the budget from the zombie eyed granny starver, Paul Ryan. The voter like what President Obama wants to do, rebuilding infrastructure, increasing taxes on the wealthy, closing corporate loopholes, etc. They don't like what the budget Munster proposes...killing Medicare.

Really? You need a link to how unpopular killing Medicare is?

Asked what Medicare should look like in the future, just 26 percent said it “should be changed to a system where the government provides seniors with a fixed sum of money they could use either to purchase private health insurance or to pay the cost of remaining in the current Medicare program.” Fully 64 percent said “Medicare should continue as it is today, with the government … paying doctors and hospitals directly for the services they provide to seniors.”

Even a solid 56 percent to 30 percent majority of Republicans preferred the current system.

The voters loved it so much they couldn't convince a single Democratic Rep to vote for it.
