2. Read the table of contents. In big letters you'll see "Subtitle E--Provisions related to Revenue." Slowly scan your eyes down the contents of that subtitle (stay with me, we're still in the table of contents). Stop when you see "Section 1402. Unearned income Medicare contribution."
3. Having found the section on revenue from unearned income in the table of contents, skip down to the actual text in the body of the bill.
4. Read.
5. Repeat Step 4 as necessary.

The income tax applies to all income UNLESS there is an exception specifically provided. If you bought a home for $100,000 and sold it for $250,000, you have $150,000 of income. In my lifetime, the tax has applied in many different ways, such as:

* all income from the sale is taxable;

* any income from the sale of a home plowed into the repurchase of another home within a time certain was is not taxable;

* any income from the sale of a home made at a time when the owner was over a certain age (I think it was 59) is not taxed; and

* nobody pays any tax on this sort of income.

The income tax code is complex and fluid, and reacting to every change to it like your hair is on fire is not reccommended, though it is fun to watch.

The part where you state that I am stating or implying that it may be also a HIDDEN House Tax at the time of purchase is a misunderstanding on your part.

That paragraph deals with the fact that this HIDDEN Tax, when used, is NOT necessarily applied to "rich" people EARNING $250,000 , or MORE. I was making the point that it is somewhat common place that a person in the Middle Class, or even a person of a modest income who by "scrimping and saving, cutting corners may in his lifetime save enough for a $250,000 house." And this person will be taxed.

(INSERT: at this point I shoulda mentioned that certain additional qualifications might also be clarified).

WHEN WILL HE BE TAXED ???

Answer: Since it's an "Obamacare House SALES Tax"......the dude will be taxed WHEN HE MAKES THE SALE OF THE HOUSE.......NOT WHEN HE PURCHASES THE HOUSE.
