House rejects sex-selection abortion ban

The legislation would have made it a federal offense, subject to up to five years in prison, to perform, solicit funds for or coerce a woman into having a sex-selection abortion. Bringing a woman into the country to obtain such an abortion would also be punishable by up to five years in prison. While doctors would not have an affirmative responsibility to ask a woman her motivations for an abortion, health workers could be imprisoned for up to a year for not reporting known or suspected violations of the ban on sex-based abortions.

An earlier version of the bill also made it illegal to abort a fetus based on race.

good question.....the 2/3 vote is normally for non-controversial votes that should sail right on through.....guess the originators thought this would not be controversial.......guess the hypocritical Demonrats proved them wrong.....and showed their true colors....

Do we want to end up like China with a one child policy and 37 million less girls than boys to show for it?

This is a bill that we need because already have sex-selective abortions and abortions based on racism in this United States of America that are brought to be by organizations like Planned Parenthood who claim they fight for "human rights".

We even treat babies with mental disabilities as less than human in America too because when women get pre-natal testing and find out their baby has Down's Syndrome, around 90% of those women abort their babies.

Why isn't this covered constantly in the media? Why aren't the so called feminists of our day speaking out against this? Where are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton in the midst of this deliberate, blatant racism? Why do organizations like March of Dimes and Lions Clubs that purportedly strive to help people with disabilities donate to an organization like Planned Parenthood that kills the people they supposedly help?

You won't hear anything from feminists. Abortion is so important that the only thing that matters is that a baby was killed. Liberals maybe looking towards a future in which there are so few women, that normal men will be gay.
