Boehner first came in ready to accept the deal Obama had offered in 2011. Obama told him that he had already turned that one down and it was no longer on the table

Boehner next asked for $800 billion in tax cuts and Obama told him he already had that with or without Boehner

So Boehner ran away from the table and fell on his face with a hopeless Plan B

Can Boehner be embarassed any further?

Republicans wanted to protect 100% of us from tax increases.

After negotiation, they were able to protect 99.4% of us from tax increases.

It was a nice win for Republicans who were in a rather unwinnable position.

Now that the 'middle class' got theirs, (human nature being what it is) they will support the arguments to cut freeloading as long as they as it does not affect them.

Republicans are in a MUCH stronger minority position now. This was a defacto win.

Leftards and their complict media spin to the contrary, and conservative butthurt certainly plays right into their hands.

Keepers at NYC's Bronx Zoo have installed plexiglas barriers beyond the bars of some cages in the primate exhibit because the monkeys there are known to defecate into their hands and throw it when something upsets them. Funny, you could say the same thing about working class Christians who not only have nothing to show for their support of the GOP, except their economic situation is getting worse.

Except that abortion is still legal.
Gay Marriage is legal in ten states. (Maybe 11 if IL gets its head out of its ass.)
Kids are still being taught Evolution.
Kids are still not allowed to pray in school.
You can't put your ten commandments or nativity scene on public property.
We might even see some common sense gun laws now that rich people's schools are being shot up.

Your job got shipped to China.
You're now paying higher sales taxes to offset tax breaks for the wealthy.
Your new job has no health coverage benefits, or really crappy ones.

The big problem with your argument is, the Christian group isn't promised any additional government funding or free entitlement gimmicks (on the taxpayer's dime that further drives up our national debt) in exchange for a vote. They share moral values of individual personal responsibility and helping those in need (to include organizations like the Salvation Army which promotes coming together to help your fellow man) without and beyond the dependency of government.

He has finally figured out that the House must debate and pass the legislation and force the Senate to take action.

Shared moral values might be a good criteria for picking friends, but it's not one for picking government officials.

No, the Christian groups aren't promised funds (Except for the "Faith Based Iniatives" Bush tried to push a few years ago, and that went really well), but they do deliver votes based on promises to restore America to a value system that they forget about.

Case in point. Bush ran on opposng gay marriage in 2004, probably turned the tide in Ohio and got him a second term. But then he didn't do squat about pushing a Marriage Amendment when he got his second term. Nope, his big iniative was to turn over Social Security to Wall Street!

Imagine how much worse the crash of 2008 would have been had he gotten away with that!

Now, you can get here and whine all day about "government dependency" and "entitlements", but here's the ugly reality.

The rich people who really run the GOP need to keep a certain percentage unemployed so the rest of us all knuckled under to the shitty treatment. They need to keep wages low and people dependent on government.

What they didn't calculate on was when government does more to help you than the private sector, people totally vote for more of that stuff.
