HOUSE JUDICIAL SUBCOMMITTEE ON IMMIGRATION

Immigration Subcommittee Members

After listening to these people, there is no way Immigration Reform can work. They talked about “chain migration” if amnesty takes place. Limited to spouse and children and elderly parents.
Criminal illegal aliens and those working illegal deported.
Deportation should be in Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
Immigration Reform with amnesty compared to Holocaust. Holocaust victims were not allowed to land on U.S. shores. Illegal aliens cannot be compared to holocaust victims.
Mic 6;8...act justly. Not “just” and not “fair” to let those here stay ahead of those waiting for years to get here legally. Learning English, going to the back of the line at the nearest ICE department and paying $5,000 fine is not acting “justly.”The punishment does not fit the crime. They entered this country illegally, work illegally, colleted benefits they are not entitled to. (Anchor baby welfare checks)
Who will be allow to stay and who is going to be deported. Those that have been here 20 years or 20 days? Have anchor babies? Have families? Those that do not are deported? Farm worker and inner city workers? How do you deport a spouse, a child and not the entire family?
Illegal aliens working in fields are not Irish, Italian, etc but Hispanic.(Sheila Jackson Lee)
What is good for our country? Not another amnesty. Those deported will only come back.
I don’t see how Comprehensive Immigration Reform with amnesty or path to citizenship will work. Either they all stay or they all go home. Immigration Reform should include repealing the Automatic Birthright Citizenship for children of illegal aliens. Which is one of the incentives along with jobs.

There can be on Immigration Reform without repealing the ABC and workplace enforcement.

Mexico must agree to a ten mile "no man's land" across the length of the 2,000 mile border.
