But the truth is that the actual events do not resemble your characterizations in the least. You can deny that until you are blue in the face - it doesn't change the actual events in the least.

It may not play into your posturing rhetoric, but that's just your tough luck. In THIS instance House Democrats (surprisingly enough) took the higher road. The fact that Obama stayed on the high road is not nearly as surprising to me personally.

I can only hope that those who choose to stay on the high road are richly rewarded and those who choose inflammatory, smearing are not - regardless of which party they affiliate with.

seems to me that censure would have been the first step if they were bent on total destruction. It's easy to spit out some hypothetical predictions that contradict all available evidence. It's much harder to admit it when events don't follow the preconceived path that you've invented in your head.

Pretty stark contrast as to who was on the high road and who was on the low road in this instance. Sorry if some folks find that embarassing - that's life. The shoe has certainly been on the other foot plenty of times imho.

If I were affiliated with a political party, then I guess I might try to deflect attention away from things that embarass "my party" too. But since I am not - I am free to call 'em both ways. And THIS time, it's a pretty easy call. If you can't bring yourself to admit that (even if just to yourself), then it might be time to re-think a few priorities - IMHO.
