House Dem Caucus votes to reject tax compromise

Yeah!! As long as it makes the R's look bad who cares!!! Fuck the economy!!!!

The Republicans had a chance to give 98% of Americans a tax cut extension. They said no, period.

The dems had a chance to extend unemployment benefits. They said "FUCK YOU"!!

I'd really like to know where you get that. I rarely agree with you, but you're not usually THAT stupid. What aren't you understanding? Democrats have NEVER, EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER turned away from an extension of unemployment benefits.

Um, no, they ended up agreeing and compromised a bill WITH Obama. It was a done deal. 100% of Americans would get more in their pockets in 2011 than they do now. Either through extended FREE unemployment money, a 2% payroll cut, or expanded tax cuts for the rest.

The Dems are blocking it.

The Dems are fanatical about not allowing discrimination or bias against any person for his sex, race, religion, gender, nationality or sexual orientation.

But wealth status? Oh yeah, discriminate the f**king hell outta that!!!! Rich people aren't people after all!!!!

The Dems are not "blocking" anything. The bill hasn't even been written yet. They're voicing their criticism among themselves that a better deal could have been gotten, period. The House resolution is just that: A meaningless "resolution" to see if any of their preferences will get into the bill itself. But it's highly doubtful.

Oh bullshit. That comment is an ignorant assumption. The problem, dear people, is that the rich folk who have had the benefit of a tax windfall for 9 years have done very little to promote expansion of our economy. They have invested in foreign ventures and Wall Street casino games, outsourced jobs, and made even more millions for themselves. THERE WAS NO TRICKLE-DOWN. What part of that don't you get? And the fact that there is no guarantee they won't just triple their own cash cows again. I couldn't care less how "rich" someone is just so long as he doesn't get there by breaking MY back and leaving ME out in the cold.

Wrong again rightwinger.

Rep's compromised with Obama.

Republicans and Obama had a deal.

It's the Dem's who refused to play along with bipartisanship.

Their kamakaze hatred of the rich was too passionate to ignore.

You're assuming something has already been enacted?

Can anyone see the future as clearly as I do?....The Dems run someone other then Obama. The Republicans send our girl Sarah up against him/her and Sarah Barracuda wins by a few votes....The day after the election Olberman is missing from his show,no one has any idea where he is.Sgt Shultz is spitting up blood.Katrina Van Der Hoofin is seen wandering the streets mumbling barely human sounds.

What a future we have in store for us.Weeeeee

The majority of American voters elected President Obama. 53%. The idea was a change from the wealth of the top 2% increasing at 20 times as that of the rest of the nation. We now have an economic situation in which we are stil on the brink of a Depression. There has never been, in the history of this nation, a greater disparity in wealth between the workers and the wealthy.

If we defund the government, as the Conservatives seem so desirous of doing, we will go down as in '29. And there will be neither left nor right of center.

This is what we get when people beleive the hype.

Who said "defund the government"? I would love a link that has a quote in it from a leading conservative or republican.

The desparity in wealth whine is not just class warfare, it's class envy. Libs[as a group] can't stand successfull people, so they demand that big daddy gubmit come and make them poor. That will be a lesson to anyone that wants to be rich

I can't fathom where this broken mentallity comes from.

That's always been the biggest pile of elephant shit ever used as a talking point. It seems like a good one when people like you have exhausted all reasonable points with which to justify your positions. If poor people hated rich people, they'd also hate Barack Obama, whose income would also take a hit if there were a tax hike. Do you blathermouths ever actually THINK THROUGH what you say? I realize you desperately try to outmaneuver other members of your herd who post here by making such clever assertions, but you really come across as just being fucking ignorant.

haha classic

You fail to catch on to the blatant facts. Your leaders want you to hate the wealthy, and you do, but you give your wealthy leaders a pass b/c they are your wealthy leaders.

Did you know that oprah, one of your leaders, keeps most of her money out of the country? Obama wrote his book and made the money from it already. so his income is below the 250k.

Better luck next time.

It's obvious to everyone, the Republican's hope to reward the wealthiest Americans, and, blame the president for an increase in the debt.
It's politics as usual for the R's, they will exploit the anger of the 'tea party', yet will not make the changes promised. Already Michelle Bachman (R-MN) is working to establish a new way to provide earmarks.

It's also blatant the dems hate people that earn a very good living.

what do we call this unfounded hate based of ignorance?

racism is taken

richism, classism, dumbassism?

oh, I know

demism, the hatred of everything that's not dem. sweet.

You got something against short people?

I'd be Gimli.

Which one are you?

Dumbassery? Assclownery?
Oh - I have it:
Jealousy.

While Jealousy is very accurate, we need something that ends in ism or ist. Other wise it's not an unrational hatred of something.

Every time we disagree with big 0 it's racism or your a racist. So in the name of 'fairness' we should apply the same rules

The only time racism or racist was mentioned in this thread was by you. I guess that would make you a Fauxist who practices Limbechism.

racism is an irrational fear or hatred of another race. I used that as an example so that dems could grasp what I was saying.

demism is the irrational fear and hatred of everything not dem.

Wow! Obama has no spine, but it appears that some of the other Dems do. Awesome! Let the GOP keep demanding extending Bush's unfunded tax cuts for the rich and see how far that gets them in 2012, when their tactics end up raising taxes for everyone. Good show!:clap2:

Yeah!! As long as it makes the R's look bad who cares!!! Fuck the economy!!!!

so much for equal rights.

But it's OK, rich people have enough money they don't need to be treated fairly or equally.

There is no deal until the agreement is signed. Our Constitution has checks and balances that say both Congress and the President must sign it.

The Dems are just standing up to a $800 billion giveaway by the Republicans. When are the Republicans going to start reducing the deficit like they said they would?

This is a real mess for Barry. Dims are threatening to revolt here and, if they do, he comes off looking like the village idiot. If you recall his press conference to explain the deal...why he did it, what his choices were, best to take now what he could get as opposed to a worse deal in the new congress next month, and so on. So if they follow through he's got his fellow Dimocrats telling the whole world what a lousy negotiator he is. That's rather unprecedented as far as I can recall.

Who knew hope and change would turn out to be such a beautiful thing!

Then you don't know much about the Democratic Party. They've always had three distinct clubs: The Blue Dogs (conservatives), the Liberals (far left), and the Centrists (moderates). Each makes itself heard during major policy reform when Democrats are the MAJORITY. When they're in the minority, they tend to become one under any circumstance. The current in-party debate among Democrats is no shocking revelation.

I am amazed at the depths of desperation you lefties will dive to.
You people are so self indulged in the desire for self gratification, that reality means nothing.
Really? The Far left, the centrists( let me tell you something, there is no such thing as a centrist in the democrat party unless that person wished to be a party outcast) and the Blue dogs....ok, blue dogs I can buy. There are what , ten of them?. Please. All the rest are far left progressives and socialist/elitist liberals.
Look at the voting records of this and the 110th Congress. Democrat voting in both the House and Senate is virtually monolithic.

haha, classic. :eusa_whistle:

My own brother, a Texas oilman by the way, is very wealthy. He pays a lot of taxes in spite of his tax break, and rarely complains because he has enough and he's happy. He also sends me a big check at Christmas and for my birthday just because he knows I'm not "rich" and because he's a great guy and shares his wealth. Do I hate him? Hardly. Asshole.

Oh, by the way, knowitall:

Obamas Earn $5.5 Million Last Year, Pay $1.8 Million in Taxes - Political Punch

Sure. That's why there's this monolithic debate among Democrats going on right now, eh? You know nothing of history, I'm afraid. If the Democrats were united as one over the past year, then why did it take five drafts to get health care passed, three of which were debated in just the House alone for almost a full year? It sure wasn't just the Republicans who put the kibosh on the draft bills. Educate yourself, please, or at least pay closer attention to what really goes on instead of being glued to right wing opinion pages.

For all you water-carriers for the wealthy:

Every nickel less that the wealthy pay in taxes either goes onto the tax bill for the rest of us,

or onto the national debt.

Which is why I never get why a government handout guy like Dick Cheney..who's spent most of his life on the public dole..either from fat government contracts or as a government employee, gets such praise from Conservatives.

Why don't you guys just say it?

I WANNA SPEND A GAZILLION DOLLARS AND I WANT 5% OF AMERICANS TO FOOT THE BILL.

Just say it... enough of the mind games and other assorted pretzel logic bullsit.
