No wonder why the US and its allies can not win the war on terror in mid-east. Read the following thread and may be you can find the reason.

The UK has always been treated as the US’ best and most important ally. Leaders of both countries reiterate from several times their “special relationship”. However, some documents from the UK government leaked to Daily Telegraph show the long-existing hostility between the two partners in the war on terror in Iraq. The US troops took movement without any notification to the UK troops, and the UK commanders call their US friends “Martians”.

However, some documents from the UK government leaked to Daily Telegraph show the long-existing hostility between the two partners in the war on terror in Iraq. The US troops took movement without any notification to the UK troops, and the UK commanders call their US friends “Martians”.

The documents recorded the crucial period in Iraq between May, 2003 to May, 2004. In the document, the British chief of staff in Iraq, Colonel J.K Tanner said they were working with “a group of martians”. Col. Tanner’s boss, General Stewart admitted that he spent times to “evade” and “refuse” the order of the US officials. There was once that due to his refusal, Washington even summoned British ambassador, Sir David Manning, for a diplomatic reprimand, which is often delivered to those “rogue states”, such as Zimbabwe or the Sudan.

General Stewart admitted that the UK’s influence toward its US ally is “minimal”. The communication between the bases of each troops in Iraq can not even be guaranteed. The UK officials also complained that the US did not notify them military movements in advance, which caused serious results.

Col. Tanner said: “I now realise that I am a European, not an American. We managed to get on better…with our European partners and at times with the Arabs than with the Americans. Europeans chat to each other, whereas dialogue is alien to the US military…” General Stewart said: “As the world’s only superpower, they [the US] will not allow their position to be challenged. Negotiation is often a dirty word.”
