Honorable opposition or dishonorable?

It seems the Republican establishment is focused on bringing the Obama Administration down - no matter what the consequences. At a critical time in our nations history, it seems we, as a people, ought to pull together and not apart.
Yet many of you (those who post on this forum) choose to continue the attack everything done or suggested by the new administation.
What bothers me is that no counter proposals are offered and the attacks on Obama are often personal and nearly all are emotion laden.
I don't support President Obama in lockstep, and would welcome honest and reasoned debate on the issues facing our nation. Unfortunately, there seems to be no honorable opposiition on the right.

This is a difficult place to have any meaningful conversation. Look at some of the following quotes and tell me that these are reasonable people.

Bush had the highest approval rating of any President in United States history. It was his incompetence and lack of thoughtful action that brought him down. That and passing on Bin Laden to invade Iraq. 90% of our military and 80% of the American people believed that Saddam was instrumental in 9/11. Where did they get that idea?)

Exactly, many of those who have responded to this thread were well known as right wing trolls on the old MSNBC politics message board. Of course some left of center post absurd and hateful messages, but most of us criticized Bush&Co policies, and their obvious incompetence.
Do I think George W. Bush is the most incompetent person to ever serve as POTUS - absolutely. Did I post scurrilous comments about his children or wife? Never.

Obama himself has stated that if we want to know his policies we need to look at who he associates himself with. How can doing what Obama asked us to do be trying to make him guilty by association?????

The ideas Obama is putting forth entails the federal government taking control of a large portion of our lives. Apparently you liberals are "pro-choice" when it comes to abortion. But any other medical procedure and the government needs to have full control. For some reason we need to purchase large corporations because they are "too big to fail". Apparently we need to stimulate the economy by spending trillions of dollars 3-4 years from now. Apparently that "stimulus money" is best spent by giving it to Democrat donors.

And apparently we cant afford a single solitary spending or tax cut. I am not by any stretch a wealthy man yet. I am still in an entry level type job barely scratching by. I have to work until april to pay off my taxes. I dont see a dime of my money until april because the tax burden is so high. And I'm on the bottom of the tax bracket. This isnt right. You can't take a 1/3rd of income from the people and be complaining that we arent paying enough and we need to spend more.

Each citizen in this nation owes $400,000 in debt because of federal spending. That's a conservative estimate. What's going to happen when this government fails? And believe me, it will happen unless we get this ridiculous spending and corruption under control. Who is going to bail us out when we are "to big to fail"? No one. Because we aren't too big to fail. If any CEO ran his business like our government officials run our government, they would be looking at life in prison for the fraud and deceit of the American People.

And you think we should just blindly support these people? I didnt blindly support Bush and im sure as heck not going to do the same for Obama. If he wants to advocate policies that actually empower people and depower him and Congress, ill support him. Till then I wont.
