Except for that wacky, sore loser protest against Prop 8, homosexuality is steadily declining, its now safe to state that acceptance of homosexuality is also declining, anything else is mere death convulsions. The homosexuals have lost scientifically, socially and legally, the world just might be chaging for the better.

Sorry...but you don't seem to have any evidence for this assertion whatsoever.

However, I have read studies (don't feel like searching for them now, but I will if the conversation warrants it later) that show that people, younger generations especially, are growing ever more tolerant and accepting of homosexuality. And, just like racism, sexism, and other forms of bigotry and intolerance...we will see homophobia diminish as the years progress...allowing more and more homosexuals to feel comfortable being "out" about who they are.

It may still be years before homosexuality is no big deal, before gay marriage is legalized...but to think that it somehow is "going away" seems like much more like a desperate wish then reality.

Mr Bass has been in NO plenty of times, has mucho family there[well not now because of Katrina] and has family in Miami as well. Florida is the gayest Southern State and thats where the buck stops. Homosexuality and acceptance of homosexuality is almost nonexistent down here.

Homosexuality is having sexual desire or behavior towards member's of the same sex. So while the sex act itself can certainly be part of it, it is not the sole distinguishing characteristic. Being sexually interested in members of the same sex as yourself is.

And you are right...it is not homophobic to reject the notion that homosexuality is ok.
It is, however, homophobic to pretend that homosexuality is somehow going to decline just because you don't like it, lol.

Prop 8 failed - showing conclusively that people are not ready for homosexual marriage. But a proposition like that would not have even been on the ballot 10 years ago...and it wouldn't have received the kind of support it received even 5 years ago.

This isn't about whether or not you think gay marriage is right or wrong...its about the simple truth that homosexuals are not going away...they are becoming increasingly accepted, especially among young people - who are going to grow up and wonder what all the fuss was about.
