Montreal — Media were given the go-ahead Wednesday to report on Karla Homolka's post-prison life after a judge dismissed a request by the convicted killer for a sweeping injunction that would have imposed severe limits on news outlets.

Ms. Homolka sought the injunction because she believes her life will be in danger from members of the public if they find out where she lives or what she looks like.

Justice Paul-Marcel Bellavance's ruling that granting the injunction would be a danger to freedom of the press came amid reports Ms. Homolka will challenge the restrictions another judge has imposed on her when she is freed.

Judge Bellavance said the defence arguments for the injunction were unconvincing and he believed it would be unwise to impose the kind of restrictions sought by Ms. Homolka and her lawyers.

"One day or another, after 12 years of detention, Karla Teale must face the Canadian public and the Canadian media," he said.

Oh, my. How utterly tragic.

Nuke the b*tch. She won't have to worry about being alone, and Canada won't have to worry about a repeat offence.
