The former employer of convicted killer Karla Homolka says he was stabbed Thursday night outside his home in Longueuil.

Richer Lapointe says he was attacked while getting out of his vehicle. He said the masked attacker stabbed him in the back.

Lapointe refused to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Police in Longueuil are investigating.

Lapointe owns the hardware store where Homolka worked following her release from prison this summer.

He made headlines in Quebec when he came forward to accuse his new employee of breaking some of the tough conditions of her prison release.

Lapointe made secret tapes of conversations with Homolka in support of his claim that she communicated with someone who had a criminal record and came into contact with children without another adult present.

On Thursday, Quebec Crown prosecutors announced that they could find no evidence Homolka had breached the conditions under which she was released.

Homolka and her former husband, Paul Bernardo, were convicted of kidnapping, torturing and killing Ontario teenagers Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French in the early 1990s.
