Thanks for the question.... I think there is a very fair grey area when it comes to contractors and other businesses in this conversation. I used to do photography for events and websites. I appreciated the ability to pick and choose which jobs I accepted.

So I have a pretty liberal view on this where I appreciate people’s freedom to pick and choose the work they do. I’d never think it right to force a 21 year old female web designer to do a beastiality porn website, to note an extreme example.

So we need to find that balance and have our laws better defined. I don’t believe businesses should be able to blanketly discriminate. That’s important, but again there is another element in there that the service providers have decision power over. Depends on the business, service, clients and specific situation.

To answer you question, no I don’t think a gay painter should be forced to draw murals of god damning homosexuals. But if the church wants the painter to just paint the church and the painter denies them because he discriminated against Christians then we might have a problem

I'm not surprised at all. After all it's the Christian Church that tells them that if they don't stop they will not go to heaven. Homosexuals want so badly just to be accepted as normal. They want to believe that what they are participating in is perfectly okay. The one thing that stands in their way is the Bible that says it's not okay.

I will say this though. If the Christian Church mistreats them then that adds to their dislike. Jesus never mistreated the sinner. He was clear that what they were doing was wrong. But he never mistreated them. On of the most hated types of people in his day was the tax collector who stole money from people. Yet Jesus ate with him. In fact the religious people complained that Christ hung around sinners. So, while we believers are right to call homosexuality is sin, it doesn't negate our responsibility to be loving and kind. Jesus tells us to love our neighbor. And our neighbors are of the homosexual community. It doesn't mean we have to compromise the scriptures. Practicing homosexuals will not be saved. Just like practicing adulterers, thieves etc.

But we must still be civil and kind. That's what Jesus taught and practiced.

Churches that say homosexuality is not sinful and openly embrace it are accepting wickedness and in violation of scripture. God will judge them harshly. They are not part of the true church.
