That's my question as well, because when they get something wrong (especially on the evening shows) they come back the next day (or as soon as they find the error) and apologize for it, and provide the correct information. I've seen Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'donnel both do this.

Well, you know............most people aren't exactly their best at 5:30 am when they're being bombarded by excited reporters asking questions (especially when they haven't seen the news yet).

That was different even though I was pretty pissed at CNN, because that is what I first saw on the monitor at work. Then 10 minutes later I got asked and told them that the mandates were struck down. We then look at the monitor and found out the right information. The first thing I said was, well they just screwed me, the company is now going to cut everyone loose from health care coverage in 2014. They said we could buy health care on Obama exchanges. Both Fox and CNN should have waited but it was a mistake not a misquote made to make a mother sound as if she were pronouncing judgement on her son.
