Hollywood rides to Obama's Rescue

Bruce Willis is "anti American"? I know he is in Hollywood so I guess you all think he is anti-American too? I wouldn't say that to his face if I were you.

So what is your favorite Bruce Willis movie? I'll go with "Last Man Standing". ;)

When it comes to Bruce Willis....basically you can name it. If I had to pick a movie, I'd likely go with the first Die Hard.

I'm fully aware he was white.

Is your premise that any movie staring a black hero that is released before the election is somehow being done to give the President a bump?

Note: Samson can't tell the difference between hollywood movies and reality.

:eusa_whistle:

Thanks for playing.

I think his point was that "hollywood" tries to use movies to influence political agenda. In the thirties and forties, hollywood was proud to do that: Shirley Temple was used to cheer people thru the depression. The patriotic movies in the forties helped to keep morale and support for our troops during WWII.
Shirley Temple could do nothing to stop the depression, but she did bring a smile to millions, and make them think about better days.
Patriotic movies in the forties could not win the war, but they did help rally Americans to "buy bonds", collect stuff for the war effort, volunteer, and join to fight.
That wasn't what he said in his OP. It selected a specific movie about an airplane pilot; tried to marry that to the President on the premise that both the actor and the President are black.

Bullshit. And more bullshit. If it leans "anti-conservatism" I'll endorse that. But "anti-conservatism" is light years away from remotely being "anti-American."

Gee, we paid taxes under Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I, Bush II...people who we never met got our tax monies. That was pretty socialist. Bush II passed Medicare Part D. Sounds socialist to me.

The way you wingnuts have recently started calling what the government has done under all Presidents "socialism" is authentically hilarious.

They released movies to hurt republicans prior to past elections, and it will not be shocking to see it again. The left is the side that keeps throwing Obama's race in everyone's face. He had to have a huge portion of white voters to get into office in the first place. We were told if we didn't vote for him, we were racist. Now we are being told if we don't vote for him, again, we are REALLY racist. Hollywood touts that agenda.
Examples of Hollywood touting this please.

But vote for him again, people loved the fraud, Bernie Madoff (until they wanted to collect on their investments), and Obama puts him to shame.

I guess busting Madoff was, in your view, anti-American? Is that why you brought it up?:cuckoo:

Hollywood big hitters are giving Obama fund-raisers and publically supporting him. Spielberg is said to be behind his Bain capital attacks. Compare that with the hollywood biggies that came out attacking Bush.

My analogy was Obama is Bernie Madoff on steroids. Bernie stole "billions". Obama has now taken and left the tax payers on the hook for "trillions". Bernie looks like small potatoes compared to the bigger fraud. So vote for the "fraud" again, how many more "trillions" can he take from the tax payers. You can claim "I helped" when he is gone and "only" the very wealthy have health care (because they hired personal physicians), and we are left with some disasterous system like Great Britan or Canada. Tell everyone how you voted for the fraud when over half your paycheck goes to taxes to pay the "interest" for the loans this man put in place. When you are 75 and still working, know that "your hero" is responsible and you put him in power, again (I guess you didn't get kissed the first time he screwed you (all of us), and were hoping for more...).

I think it's great Obama is kicking it up with all these Hollywood actors, it shows just how out of touch he is with the REAL folks of this country

Have your fun while you can, only a few more months then your partying on us people will be over

Actually, I sort of relish the thought of some here bringing up every silly argument you guys made on the other side. It will be interesting to see "us people" all of the sudden see the wisdom of raising the debt ceiling, not sending troops into every country that has internal strife unless US Interests are at state, and seeing the taxes that will still be there called necessary instead of "socialism".

Do you still believe Obama wasn't born in the US?

Doesn't matter what "I" believe. He claims he was. Oh, he left his book cover show he was born in Kenya. Which is it? Either way, he is a liar and a fraud.
Love how you guys embrace corruption to put politicians in office, and then complain about corporate greed when the same politicians use their office to land a job over a major corporation. Then suddenly, you want to cry about corruption and "greed". You make the monsters and then you complain, I don't get it.

Any American who takes Advice on who to vote for from Hollywood Celebs is Pathetic.

Why do we Idolize those people so much? Because they are good at Playing Make Believe? They are, for the most part, a Bunch of Greedy, Narcissistic, Delusional Assholes.

If they want to give some Advice on how to Act, or how to Throw a good Party, Or How to be an Egomaniac, Ill listen. Not going to Pay attention when they tell me why I should support Democrats.
Cons still have Chuck Norris that they like to trot out.

dude....:eek:don't fuck with Chuck..:eusa_hand:

why yes of course....I always check in with Big Nose before I make a move....

The intimate dinner banked about $2 million, with 50 people paying $40,000 each. …

Speaking in a dimly lighted, art-filled room, Obama told supporters they would play a critical role in an election that would determine a vision for the nation’s future.

“You’re the tie-breaker,” he said. “You’re the ultimate arbiter of which direction this country goes.”

yeah, that is how I felt when Ronald and Nancy were in the White House.

What a stupid fucking idea for a thread.

You better hope no movies come out where a white guy saves anyone, or the world... or looks smart, you know, around election time.

The Avengers were all Caucasian so I guess that was Romney's support showing through. LOL.

The right wing looney bin is overflowing.

I didn't mention "racist" agenda, you did. Moore's film on global warming, Moore's film on Cuba healthcare (did you notice how hollywood with all their money flocked to be treated in Cuban hospitals?). I said the agenda (democratic/liberal/progressive/homosexual activist/islamic extremist/communist/socialist/environmentalist: pick one they all act the same to get what they want). As far as racist agenda goes, the white and black couples in the movies occur at a greater percentage than in the population. Blacks are portrayed as: superior, inferior, cooler, idiots, con men, heroic, ruthless, compassionate, obstinate, compliant, mostly based on how hollywood wants them portrayed. Very rarely are blacks portrayed as the average joe, working hard, and getting by, raising a family and trying to keep the drama low.

So, please, let's go deeper: why does hollywood choose to downplay the USA as exceptional, while elevating countries that use bribes as way of doing business as desirable?

I just quoted you saying exactly that.

Moore's film on global warming, Moore's film on Cuba healthcare (did you notice how hollywood with all their money flocked to be treated in Cuban hospitals?). I don't remember the name of the ONE film you're referring to. Apparently neither do you since you didn't mention it. As I recall the point of the movie though--I and apparently about 300 million other people never saw it (so much for the acknowledgement of Hollywood eh?)--was that the GITMO prisoners got better healthcare than US Citizens. On that one point, it was correct.

As far as racist agenda goes, the white and black couples in the movies occur at a greater percentage than in the population.
Stats to back that whopper of a lie up, please.

Very rarely are blacks portrayed as the average joe, working hard, and getting by, raising a family and trying to keep the drama low.

I can name 5 movies off the top of my head where blacks are in a movie just a working joes. But to your point...do you really want to see a movie about some guy going to work in a metal shop or office or chemical plant or JC Penny, working for 8 hours, coming home and watching TV? Show me a movie that features a white actor/actress who is confined to a role like that...

So, please, let's go deeper: why does hollywood choose to downplay the USA as exceptional, while elevating countries that use bribes as way of doing business as desirable?

Well, The Avengers was set in New York City. It was about a largely American set of super heroes. Oh and by the way, it left out Colonel Rhodes--the black colonel who was in the first two Iron Man movies. One would think that if it were such an orchestrated plot to portray blacks as heroic, they would have put him in there. How do you explain that? MIB III was about exceptional Americans. Madagascar III was about exceptional American animals or animals from an American zoo. Rock of Ages was about exceptional American musicians. And apparently the movie that put the bee in the bonnet of the moron who started this ridiculous thread is about an exceptional American airline pilot. Oh but he's black so I'm guessing you don't think he is a real American.

It is unclear that he ever saw that blurb about him from his literary agent. That being said, I'd be shocked if he didn't see it.

As I recall, the person who was responsible for the blurb copped to not correcting it.

As for the answer, learn your place.

Sorry, I think this topic is to "deep" for you. If you want to go around chasing every black actor and guessing what there part meant, you should start another thread. This one was referring to the "fact" that Denzel (a really decent actor (and happens to be black, like the President, he could probably be his "brother", since he is too old to be his "son") that is liked by "all" colors) is in a movie that is being timed to come out the weekend before the election. Can you please list another movie that has the release dates five months in advance? If you can't, maybe you should consider why that is. Obama and his lapdog press are the ones ALWAYS bringing up race. Don't you think this is just a little coincidental?

If you can't see that, I am sorry I bothered you. You can still drink the koolaid, it is available 24/7 on most new casts. You can still vote the fraud in for another term!
