I'm thinking of going down to see for myself. That was how I learned more about the Tea Party. Went in person.
Maybe take a camera, ask people questions and videotape their answers.
My daughter is curious about it because she remembers studying the
Civil Rights movements of the 60's and this reminds her of that. Here in Vegas, there should be no danger of violence etc... We don't even have people in tents.

But then, it's down to about 65 degrees and my lovely bride (Latina) gets
cold the moment it drops below 80.
Still, I am not one to judge things solely by what I see in the media and our neighbor (who invited me) is a 50 year old business owner. Not exactly the young hippie type portrayed by the biased Right Wing Media.

(I love using that phrase! Kinda reverses the victim mentality of the ConservaRepubs!)

You'd be better served going to a local ZOO...albiet *I* can't see what the difference is quite frankly?

Yeah, pretty much the same thing I thought about all those whackjobs in the Tea Party before I went to see for myself.

by accident I saw them, tried to find someone to talk to, nobody was available, too busy chanting nonsense in my opinion.

and people were smoking weed, and it was lame to say the least

they barely know what they want

maybe a utopian left wing, west europe society?

honestly, i tried to have an open mind, but if you go, dont expect honest debate or conversation, just parrots

Sure,

maybe you will see people are united because they are unhappy across the spectrum. You will not find a coherent message that will accepted by all. Unless of course it is so general its easy to say. Until our lawmakers are confronted this is an exercise in futility

If you are in the NYC area I would think that with the bad weather today (it's snowing) they might have packed up and gone back home to their parents house where the live in maid will see to their every needs.

As a matter of course the lawmakers SHOULD be smacked down...especially the Senate led by Dingy Harry Reid that is sitting on so much legislation from the house that another Library of Congress should be opened.

And a NOTE to the OWS idiots? No buying coats, sweaters, boots, shoes, caps, Sleeping bags, tents, or anything else manufactured by evil coporate Americans...lest you show what hypocrites you are.

Tough it out as our patriots did at Valley Forge!

You could write volumes about the neglect shown by senate democrats.

One I would disagree with your daughter, it is quite different than civil rights. I won't get into that because it will reach a lot of disagreement but by calling it civil rights that puts it in the marxist/very socialist manner because it extends a lot of things as right that are highly contested in America.

Two, I would do it if you are at a major rally. Such as NY, DC, LA, or Oakland if they got that going on. Cleveland too... It sounds like you probably aren't near one of those with the weather, maybe LA, but any case if someone was near a big rally I would have already went to see what the people are like. Seperate fact from fiction, and exaggeration from actuality.

Last thing though, if you were near one of the bigger rallies I don't know about bringing your family. I guess if they really want to go it's better they go with you, I doubt anything would happen anyways but who knows. If you kids a teenager and they go down their with some friends I can see it just being a place you may not want them to be at if it turns out to be something bad. Like just a party because that's one picture I'm seeing painted. All in all I don't know and I'm pretty much tired of this story.

Go for it.

Personally, I don't need to go down there. I already know that there is shit in the sewer, I don't need to put my nose down there to verify.

Spoken like a true partisan hack. I HAVE been down there numerous (I'm in NYC) times and there are people from all walks of life and from EVERYWHERE. You really have no business commenting on this subject, now do you? Do you not agree that we need to get corporate power (money) OUT of our government? Because that is the main message OWS is trying to get out.

My abject apologies. I forgot there are people on this board who are so incredibly stupid, such a sentence would easily confuse them. Let me see if I can dumb it down for you. Maybe this will help:

Hyperbole: noun Rhetoric. 1. obvious and intentional exaggeration. 2. an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally, as “to wait an eternity.”

So when I said "ever", I did not actually mean since the beginning of time. There. All better? Good!

Now sweetie, I know that definition had some polysyllabic words in it so if you are still confused, go find one of those Liberal Elitists and they'll explain it to you. In the meantime, I know I got under your skin sooooo badly, that you can't help your compulsion to troll my every post. It's okay. You're funny! Not too bright but funny!

Oh and unlike you little one, I don't hide behind the anonymity of the net. My bonafides are not made up.

Love & Kisses,

Your BFF

She does! Poor little thing is obssessed with me. It's flattering in a "Wow! I've got my own creepy stalker!" kind of way.
I spanked her pretty badly on a couple issues and it shows. I mean seriously, have you ever seen someone go so hostile bi-polar biotch over a compliment to another person's avatar?
Kinda tells you something, doesn't it?
