Well....South Korea is the home of the worst mass shooting in history....at least it was until Norway...but it still might be.....and it also has some of the strictest gun control laws in the world.....and yet, when their criminals want guns...they get guns....even there....

Restrictive Gun Control Powerless to Stop South Korean Attack - Breitbart

Quote:

On February 25, an unnamed gunman shot and killed three people in Sejong City, South Korea, despite the country’s strict gun control regulations.

According to GunPolicy.org, South Korean gun regulations are rated “restrictive” and include proving the need for owning a firearm, passing criminal and mental health background checks, and registering the gun with the government, among other things.

Despite these regulations, ABC News reports the gunman allegedly “shot and killed three people in a Sejong City convenience store” and then set the store ablaze “before fleeing.” The suspect is then alleged to have shot and killed himself “a few kilometers from the store.”

The suspect was allegedly in possession of hunting rifles which can only be lawfully possessed after being checked out from police stations.

Breitbart News previously reported that France and Denmark also have “restrictive” gun regulations in place, none of which were able to prevent the January 7-9 Paris attacks or the February 14 attacks in Copenhagen.

As with Paris and Copenhagen—and Sandy Hook Elementary in the U.S.—the demonstrable lesson from South Korea is that gun control only hinders or disarms law-abiding citizens. It does not prevent the criminally-minded from carrying out their heinous plans.

I thought you were going to cite annual gun crime statistics. I was wrong.

Doesn't matter...we have over 320 million guns in private hands and only have 6-700 accidental gun deaths a year.....so gun accidents are not a problem....especially considering that more Americans own guns and over 11.1 million are actually carrying them for self defense.......which is even more amazing that the accidental gun death number is so small..

As this story from S. Korea shows...if the criminals from other cultures don't use guns...it is because they choose not to...they can and do get guns when they want or need them.....

The group of people who don't get guns in S. Korea...the innocent, law abiding citizens...they can't get any guns....

Sooooo....congratulations gun control........not one of those murdered S. Koreans had a gun to stop the killer .....yay gun control........

They have a very low homicide rate and I would guess almost no accidental shootings. I'd say they are doing fine. Certainly aren't going to look at us as an example of something better.

What does that have to do with South Korea?
It has to do with the claim that firearms related deaths are a problem. Including all sources about 30000 a year die from firearms, yet close to 200000 die from Doctor's mistakes. There are a lot less doctors to boot then there are firearms.

They have a MUCH lower homicide rate. They aren't going to flood their country with guns so they can get it higher like ours.

From wikipedia...South Korea is #3 for suicide....and Greenland is #1....what's with that......I think they have pretty good gun control too.....Lithuania is second......

Most people who are going to die from a doctor mistake probably need a doctor pretty badly. Probably so bad they would die without that doctor.

Brain...their homicide rate is lower because their criminals don't kill the way ours do.....simple as that.......they obviously can get guns....they just don't use them....

And our non gun murder rate is higher than theirs....so guns aren't an issue.......

I doubt it's because we have better mental health care.
