History Should Boost Critical Thinking

What happens when the best American historians name FDR as America's best president, then the American historians are called socialists, leftists etc.
Most industrial nations on the planet have an economic mixture, socialism and capitalism.

FDR sucked, he was awful, worst economic record in human history
Your opinion has been noted, any history to go with it?

And that's why historians rank FDR to high? :confused-84:

The historians rank FDR high because they believe he was one of our greatest presidents. Historians have been ranking presidents since 1948 and have never ranked FDR lower than third best president, but in the last rating they rated FDR greatest American president. FDR is also the only American president elected by the people four times in a row, so it seem both the American historians and the American people believed FDR was the best.
Whatever the people of that time period know, apparently the best American historians know it too.
By the way in that last historian presidential rating, Bush was rated fifth worst president, and Harding is usually rated worst or near-worst.

FDR is great as long as you consider the Great Depression and WW2 great!! It would take a liberal IQ to do that!!

By the liberal historian standards Barry will be second greatest great since his recovery is worst since Great Depression!!

He was the worst scoundrel to ever soil the White House. Your mindless repetition of logical fallacy won't change what that SOB did.

History does boost critical thinking but history hasn't been taught in U.S. primary or secondary education venues since "I like Ike" appeared on bumper stickers. Kids today get a mish-mash of elitist dogma called "social studies" written by pop-culture lefties and learn to feel good about themselves by putting a condom on a cucumber. The problem for elitist academic bigots is that they don't have a grasp of history either and what they think they know is based on opinion and emotion and the political climate. The racist radical left does it's best to keep the racial pot boiling in order to keep upity Blacks on the political plantation and voting for democrats. When is the last time the elitist academic left said nice things about Justice Thomas? The elitist academic hypocrites don't dare write essays that might tend to cast a bad light on liberal icons like FDR who incarcerated Americans based on the color of their skins. Talk about history and critical thinking, the freaking left wing elitist liberal academic hypocrites who never had a real job or a friend that they didn't judge by his political persuasion or the color of his skin seem to be stuck in a perpetual angry time warp while they presume to lecture real Americans about the history of abuse of American Indians who today own gigantic gambling casinos that specialize in separating the White man from his bankroll. Get off your asses and join the real world where real Americans respect each other.

Well it is true that conservatives such as the Wall Street Journal, and conservative historians have only rated FDR as third greatest president, not first, but soon Obama will be rated and that might turn things around. Bush coming in as fifth worst didn't seem to change things much, but hang in there we have more presidents on the way.

why always be 100% stupid??? If a conservative historian were to rate FDR high it would not mean that the conservative was a liberal or liked liberal policies.

Are there any developed countries in the world that don't have some socialistic programs?

Says the far left drone!

Actually, that wasn't a statement, it was a question. You got an answer?

And another far left drone swoops in and proves my comments!

See critical thinking does not exist on the far left..

So you don't have an answer, and you just want to spout silly shit as usual.......got it.

Once again the far left demonstrates they do not understand history or critical thinking. As I already posted in this thread. They are incapable of doing it. That is why they are called far left drones.

Well, we did built the world number 1 economy and military superpower in record time. You got something better than number 1?

"we", well not me, but what you say is true, as far as it goes. "we" (not me) killed over 600,000 young men (blues + grays) in the first mechanized war in history; "we" not me ethnically cleansed the prairie of Native Americans (NA's), stealing their land and nearly exterminating the American Bison.

Getting to be number 1 had costs, paid mostly by the common man; once we had achieved our Manifest Destiny we enjoyed the Gilded Age, one more event where the rich got richer and the common man paid with his labor and his life.

Sound a bit like life in the first decade of the 21st Century, doesn't it?

And Kosh can't answer a simple question. All he can do is repeat silly statement that mean nothing.

Having trouble again today are you? I'll write slowly. If a conservative historian rates FDR high it may be because the historians are more true to the profession of history than to politics. If a conservative historian rates Bush low, it does mean the historian is a liberal but in the historian's opinion Bush was not a good president.
Think of this, historians usually rate Lincoln in the top three president bracket, does that mean the historians were Republican?
Might be time to do your "Jefferson was a Republican" thing again.

Something those on the right fail to do

In “Bye, Bye, American History” (Wonder Land, June 11), Daniel Henninger cites the new AP U.S. History curriculum: “Many Europeans developed a belief in white superiority to justify their subjugation of Africans and American Indians, using several different rationales.”

It would be nice if you would exhibit some critical thinking. So far you merely parrot what your masters and fellow bigots tell you to. A critical thinker would realize that further fracturing the US into its component parts will not lead to "progress", but will lead to more hatred, intolerance, and violence.

Sounds like yet another miserable Progressive taking the Communist view of American History

So you support spreading false information in the name of unity? Of course you do.
